I'm using Windows 7 64 bit and when I click on the icon to bring up the accelerator, nothing happens.

Mac converter program is analysed as having a Trojan code when attempting download. Not worth the risk really. Annoyingly, the program tries to download it every time it's run. I uninstalled it after 10 minutes.

Re yesterdays giveaway Leawo Video Accelerator Pro 4.0 re download only installing the free version , with no where to enter the reg code.

It is like an Easter egg hunt, but today I discovered ,if you click on the Spanner symbol, near top right of prog, it opens up a box to enter the reg key , which turns the prog into the pro version .

Really this should have been included in the description, it would save a lot of trouble!

Downloaded & installed on win 7 (64). Registered ok. I used the install version from the link in the registration code eMail - not sure if thats any different to GOTD version. Click on the MENU tab in top right - then "Upgrate" to enter the code. Yikes.
I can't see any speedup from my cable modem (20-25 Mbps) streaming video so may delete.
Tried their link to hollywood movies - the following issue:
Very few are recent, most probably bypassed the theatre and went straight to bin.
Chinese subtitles are on. First browser page changes to Chinese text when watching movies.
Movies are multiple small slices ("12 Angry Men" is 14 slices - one each?) - it stops running at the end of each slice and haas to be clicked several times to run the next. Tedious.
There's an option to download as FLV or other file type - AVI, MP4. BUT despite several tries, the download option only saves the first slice eg 7-15 mins. So unless you love watching the title credits and not movies you are out of luck. Interesting idea but very flawed build.
Not sure about the legals of watching streaming movies stamped "Sorry this video can only be streamed in the Chinese Mainland" on browser tab one - is it any different to torrent download or other file ripping which are not legal?

I downloaded installed & registered, tried downloading a news item from youtube & didn't get A monitor message prompt from the right bottom corner of the screen. So far that didn't work, tomorrow I will test other parts, not a good start here.

I downloaded this last nite and followed Poster #6's instructions.. (thank you, poster #6). The registration email came almost immediately in my gmail account. I installed without any issue on my Vista laptop. The tricky part was finding where to put in the registration key. After awhile of leaving the program running and clicking at various places on the top right hand corner of the program, a pop-up box appeared where I could input the registration key..

I think you need to turn off auto download in settings if you don't want videos downloading by itself..

Not sure if Youtube videos are benefiting, need more time to test..

Installed on windows xp. when opening got an error message and it would not connect to the internet. It said navigation to web page was canceled.I do not have any problems with three other browsers connecting to the internet which makes me think its not a problem on my end.Its sounds good if it worked but since it doesn't I gave it a thumbs down

The license information came very fast. But I don't understand the pop-up to "update" the program. We're getting the Pro version as the give away, but the "update" is for the free version. I didn't do the update, but for anyone who has, what version do you end up with?

That was ridiculously time consuming and a waste of time. after downloading, installing, uninstalling, re-downloading and re-installing, this program froze up when I opened it. froze up my computer and mouse. Control, alt, delete got no response. I had to unplug my Win 7 x64 laptop and pull the battery. After reboot I used Revo Uninstaller to get rid of this crapware. This has never happened to me before with GOTD software. I give this and Leawo a big thumbs down and will stay away from anything made by Leawo.

Further to my earlier post about only the free version installed.

When you try to watch a movie it says you can only watch the beginning of each download segment and takes you to a link to purchase the pro version.

So I tried watching one (free) movie segment , when you want to watch another segment all the rest of their browser comes up in squares or Chinese and says I need to instal Chinese language pack . I don't speak or read Chinese!

Ridiculous and suspicious to require an update from Pro 4.0 to Pro 4.1, upon installing the software and registering it.

I downloaded the update Pro 4.1 and tried to install it, but AVAST told me it has low reputation and so I decided not to update.

This developer is sloppy. Just wasted my time and it smells suspicious unless GOTD team can verify it this software update is safe or not safe please.

Appreciate it.

The Key arrived in the SPAM folder at gmail along with instructions to download the file. After the download, the file installed easily on Win 8 Developers Preview. I watched MSNBC.com Nightly News in it's entirety without a glitch for the first time. Each clip is available for download by the program. Hulu is not supported by this browser.
I will use it.

WHA? unlike others i received the mail (right, in Spam folder) instantly! BUT! what you think? (i was wondering as everything be that fine this time (this day with this app)) i followed everything exactly from initial readme.txt and from mail receveid but seems that my software still ain't registered! O.o ok, i guess i'd have (once i received a code in mai email) to actually manually register it BUT where the hell from?? i see absolutely nothing where from to register it! nothing in Options/Settings, nothing in menus abd. nothing! :P :(

Ok I did what #5 suggested and got the email immediately install fine and seems to run ok. Problem is that is the end of it. It might be fine on youtube but other than that other video sites it doesn't seem to work at all with. And one of the sites for it's search is megaupload with then displays an FBI warning about how it was shut down to to piracy by the FBI So so far not very impressive software at all. Might play with it a little bit more but appears it will be uninstalled

A couple of strange things about this software on an XP machine. First, I got the email key and downloaded the file from the link in the email. Then I copied the license key to the clipboard so it would be ready to register after I ran the setup file. The strange thing was that after running setup, there was no place to input the license and no link in the program to register. The menu bar at the top said that it was registered to GOTD, so maybe it used the key from the clipboard and registered itself? The second strange thing is that after installation, this asked me if I wanted it to run at Windows startup. I said no, but when I checked the options later, it still had a check mark in the Startup with windows line. I had to remove that check mark so it would not start when Windows loads. Finally, the browser this uses was partially cut off on the right side, so the close button that should be at the top right was not visible and I could not close the browser without right clicking the tray icon. As said previously, this website has a bad WOT rating. This software does not act like it is ready for prime time.

After the download, extraction, etc., the opened program states that a new free version with required fixes is ready for download! Why isn't the fixed software downloaded in the first place? Why do we need to download a second time?

Don´t tell me that this software can make my PC work faster, coz then wouldn´t I trust you !

Lets take a look at the description from their homepage:

Faster Video Downloading

Due to the multi-thread processing... STOP - so my old single thread processor wouldn´t be able to use this software with any benefits at all !
(To the experts: A multi-thread CPU do more than one job at the time and therefore use all the threads at the same time. In other words, you lose the multi functions when you use this kind of software.)

...and the acceleration technology of temporarily saving videos into your local computer while being browsed... STOP - isn´t that the process that have been done the last 100 years by all browsers ?

...Leawo Free Video Accelerator can download videos with just a mouse-click and extremely-fast speed... STOP - Define "extremely-fast" in some mathematical terms and you perhaps get my attention... ohh... you can´t ? Because you don´t know my hardware configuration and therefore can´t know if I have a bottleneck or not and you don´t know where the bottleneck is !
(To the experts: If the bottleneck is the GPU then can´t you speed up the output to the monitor. If the bottleneck is the HDD then can´t you download faster. If the bottleneck is the CPU then have you just wasted your money on useless software!)

...In addition, this video accelerator supports batch downloading as well to save your time.

To the developer:
Why don´t you make software that accelerate the speed between the HDD (SSD), CPU and the GPU ?

I have the fastest DDR3 RAM from Kingston and the fastest GDDR5 video RAM and a very fast download speed and a fast multi-tread CPU, so your software would not make any different on my PC ! My bottleneck is the HDD and so is it on most PCs today !

I also have not received the registration code & download link, after waiting 2 hours on one e-mail address and over an hour on a second e-mail address.

The "setup.exe" file checks out clean on VirusTotal.com, a good sign, but the Leawo website looks very bad on WOT. Add to that the installation, highly suspicious actions, and time-limited functionality of the program described by several users above... I'm very glad I did NOT get any registration code yet! No Leawo product will ever find it's way onto my PC in the future. Thanks, GAOTD, for your efforts -- normally your offerings are quite helpful and a good introduction to their developers. In this case your fine user community and some investigation on my part may have saved me a lot of trouble!

I tried before to get a license code for this from another giveaway elsewhere. Never had a reply back and no license.
Thought I'd try again as it's GAOTD this time, but hours later still no email.
Will try to remember to avoid this company next time. I should have learned from past experiences but was willing to give Leawo another chance.
If your thinking about it I'd tell you not to bother.

Dear users,

though we received the key at several emails immediately, we have contacted the Developer regarding registration process problems. Still please make sure to check your SPAM folder for registration data.

We have already mentioned additional updates, needed for application run in our letter to the Developer. Hopefully we will get the answers soon. Otherwise we will update the information ASAP.

Downloaded and followed the convoluted procedure to install, register and get the new file, etc. but it would not install properly. Apparently needed to delete a file after installing 30% and got an "Access denied" message. Tried again from original download - same problem. Even downloaded again and still got the same problem. Complete waste of 2 hours.

First you download a 19 mg file then when going to get your code
it tells you to now go to their website to download yet another
file. Whats the point of the first 19 mg file if you have
to download another .exe file? Ok now running this its like a huge
Window with a bunch of their other products all over the place.
You cant click anywhere without seeing more products and ads. So wow
thanks I now have a giant ad for Leawo on my screen. Easy to use?
This is horrible. I go to uninstall and get a notice that
uninstall didnt remove all items I get to do some manually oh what joy.
And after uninstall it takes over my browser and pops up to Leawo
website again . POS.

Horrible software!

Crashed again and again on Windows 7 - when INSTALLING.

Also it crashes latest Opera build (which I use for Video). Only quitting this program makes hulu work again.

Also, interface looks horrible. It shows top-movies to watch (illegal - gotta love that:). You cannot watch. I did not have one video playing. Did not spent much more time. You shouldn't either.

Sorry, but please: rest in peace ;p

This is an update to my comment #1.
Tested it thoroughly today 4 Jun 2012 using to view several episodes of a streaming video drama.

Without Leawo Video Accelerator the video was choppy and in fits and starts. Stopping and starting with long intervals of about 20 seconds in between,

With Leawo Video Accelerator, it plays back smoothly.
Get this software giveaway. It performs well.

The following freewares were also tried to view online streaming video. Both failed miserably:
