As usual had to boot to virus unprotected safe mode to install this. On reboot and login I was presented with a light blue screen with no desktop background, icons or start button. Doing a Google search from Safe Mode once again seemed to indicate this was caused by a newly installed driver breaking one of the task Windows uses to start a number of system services at start up. As the only driver installed was that associated with the Laewo software this would appear to be the culprit. So far have tried a system repair and restoring a system restore from before Laewo was installed without it making any difference. Looks like I could be spending the next month reinstalling Windows and setting up my desktop again thanks to Laewo and GAOTD.

Are there release notes for 2.1? I have version 2.0 and just want to know what the enhancements/bug fixes are.

Same problem as #13 stated:

"I am always getting message:
The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program."

Remember that anti malware won't like the installation in many cases of this type of software, and this will change your defaults if not careful. Its pretty good software though. That being said, free alternatives are Aktiv MP3 (my favorite and can schedule recordings)), Audacity (complicated and slower but features!), Streaming Audio Recorder and likely a few new ones if you search deep.

I've been using version 2.0 for more than a year, and it's good. Not the most flexible program in the world, but it does the job it's intended for very well. Like some other system sound recorders it inserts its own sound recording device in the audio device chain in Windows, and that could be a problem for some configurations, but it wasn't for me running Win7 with a standard VIA audio system. If you have issues like poster#3, try going to your Windows sound settings and select your correct recording device.
I see that they are giving away version 1.0 free on the web site. Avoid that version - it had a bug where the mp3 audio recording glitched every 10 seconds or so. That bug was gone in version 2.0.

I also have the RealTec audio driver on my computer but had no problems in installing Leawo Music Recorder.
Maybe your audio drivers are out of date and need updating.
I also use System Protection (comes with Windows [go to Control Panel>System)to create a restore point before installing software on my computer.

Must turn off all protection in order to install inc AntiVirus.
Stupid reg process where copy/paste are disabled. Too easy to misread reg key but all up & running on W7/64.
Looks better than the old version and works equally well.
Good and a def Keeper.

Installation problems at GOTD previously for me were caused by firewall and or Antivirus conflicts

I really wanted to grab this, but 3 out of 5 comments saying it installed weird or not at all is a deal breaker. :-/

Ava, It worked great on two of my computers (both Windows 7 Pro.) but I can't speak for other OS-es.

After installing Leawo Music Recorder, I can't hear my sound anymore! How can I fix it? During the installation, it has prompted me to install Leawo Audio driver.

@ Quach Phat Thang

Don't install the audio driver if you already have a separate sound card installed.

Quach Phat Thang,
Leawo creates a new "sound out device" in order to funcition. You have to change back the audio settings in Windows:

1) Right click on the volume setting in the bottom right corner of Windows
2) Left click on "Playback devices"
3) When the new window opens, chose your normal "sound out" option and click "set default"

Quach Phat Thang,

I installed without a problem. After installation, you need to go back into your sound properties and set your playback sound back to the computers speakers/headphones as default and not LEAWO speakers. When you go to use the program you need to switch default back to LEAWO... It is a pain but the program works good. I had previous versions and was glad to GAOTD had this up again. Installed on my new computer..

FF01, Thank you for your reply. So, when we use Leawo Music Recorder, we have to switch back to Leawo Speaker. But I still don't understand, how can we record music outside computer (not streaming sound) without hearing anything because we have switched to Leawo Speaker? Hope you will help me! :)

Make it so you can copy and paste in the registration code instead of having to type it all in by hand!

Reply   |   Comment by Ron Dunn  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Ron Dunn,
Just use CTRL + V to paste it in once you have copied the code by the usual right click method.

If you ever get one that has disabled right click copying then CTRL + C will often copy.

Product won't install. Tried several times. Downloads and activation screen comes up with registration number but product won't install..............nothing happens. Windows10?

Not Very Good Promo, Do not know if this helps but the other times I have run in to the no installation but "product activated" screen coming up I ended up having to disable my antivirus protection to get anything to install. No idea why the problem only comes up every once in a while, or if there is a better solution.

What A Disaster!

Installation of this program totally messed up my sound system which is controlled by Realtek.
It removed it from the start-up menu, my uninstall program did not fix the problem and it was necessary to do a system restore, this occurred in XP.
I need Realtek sound manager when I use Skype.

Had a quick look at the program and didn't find anything that offered anything better for me –no interest in music- than the free program MP3MyMP3, my recorder of choice.

This has been offered several times before. Works great records quality music. The price on web page shows only $19.99. The time limited offer means it will quit working unless you buy it again after one year. Of course if you shop you can buy it for about$10 or wait until it is offered free again.

Bob, I take that to mean it only works for a certain time.

judi, The website for the software says the 1 year license is $19.99, Lifetime license is $29.99. The description says that the version for this giveaway is $29.99, so it should be the lifetime license. Perhaps someone from the company will clear this up better.

After registering this software, looking the the ABOUT section of the software I don't see any type of expiration date anywhere.

judi, The "time-limited offer" statement typically refers to the fact that the program is being offered for free for a limited time, i.e., today only. It does not refer to an expiration period of the program itself.
