Still haven't gotten my activation code. Tried with 2 separate emails before the offer expired. Uninstalling and looking elsewhere for a DVD creator.

Looks like it can make DVD from MPEG4 - but it only creates ISO - it doesn't burn !!!! I click Burn and goes trough the same process again.
Look like is working fine but DVD comes up empty.

The software automatically defaults to PAL settings, and if you don't catch it you will ruin a lot of DVD's. There doesn't appear to be any way to set the default to NTSC. You have to change it every time. Thats a problem for users in the USA who need this program and would use it regularly. Otherwise it's fantastic!

Sorry for way second set of Q sound... Didn't mean to sound way it sounds. i was trying for an "off the cuff" inquiry, like "oh, by the way..." (IOW: if i (or WE) trust this guy (Technician) and follow his advice, can i trust that the software will not harm me?)

no need to publish this, unless my apology suits you... Thanks...

This registration process sucks: installed on 2 different 64-bit win 7 machines and followed the steps then waited and checked spam folders as well as main email but no key ever has arrived. Somebody at GAOTD needs to explain to all these developers and/or publishers that unnecessary complications invariably lead to failures and unhapppy users who not only won't pay for upgrades, but who will give negative recommendations to other potential customers. Surely they can understand that.

Question to mod guy: Is @44.Maureen and @58.Maureen the SAME poster?
If so - what's the difference between a "license key" and "email license"? Please verify that user names are indeed unique. (Like are Whiterabbit_uk and Whiterabbit aka Stephen the same person?) Thank you.

Oh, and one more thing: Do you, GOTD team, stand behind the stuff offered here - so that i can trust the advice given by @62.Technician? (re: DEP bypass list)
Not sure i want to 'monkey' with something on the fly...

Jeez. It is SO PAINFULLY obvious when a fake thumbs up comes in. Glad about the poster telling me it's in China cuz it seems every fake comment is in horrible, broken English. Note the missing parts of the sentence that are not part of the Chinese language.

ie:"This very good software! Other software may better but this free! I am not employee but very happy for try it free!"

@62 Technician - Thank you. I had tried to deal with the DEP on my own and I'm sure I missed something. However, after I followed your clear directions, I'm up and running. Do I need to do anything to return the DEP to where it was before?

Thanks Technician, GOTD, and Leawo. I don't have any video yet, but my husband bought me a new Sony digital camera which takes videos. I'm sure I'll have something before the end of the day that I can "play with".

nix here again hi and sorry.
One of my friends told me (securitybisnesguybutidiot)
Anything GAOTD gives out is surely checked.
How about after connected to the "firm" 'cos "MUST" register?
Surely can not put anything unwanted there?

How about little slower version; after yesthisworks...
"Update now. 'Cos..." for free of course...
Or...
You must renew your registration because...

Anyways...Leawo is thumbs down.
For me of course.

Sorry.
AliRut got the point why I'm not download this even to try.
If someone wants to chanche my settings, I wouldn't mind, but
they have to ask me first.
Then I deside

Doing without asking tells me something

So...
All my friends got message "don't download this, and remember
the company. Tell others too"

Good Marketing?

It was not just that thing tho' why I did that.
There are enough evidense anyways...

Seemed to install fine but, same issue as others with Windows 7 x64 have been having. Would not launch. Had to go to the spam folder of my email to retrieve the license code. Although I have WOT I do not always abide by it's recommendations. Esepecially those which have no comments. However, the rating info for this software's website had an abundance of comments all negative.

I did see the tip above regarding the modification of DEP but, am not willing to do that just to get this software to run.

An added note: When attempting to launch the program I looked in task mgr for the process. I was only able to see it once out of the many times I looked. I did, however, notice that each time a launch attempt was made Windows error reporting launched although it never produced an error screen/window displaying the error.

You can eliminate the step of burning to DVD if you get a cheap media player off eBay for less than 50 dollars. They will play a multitude of formats off a usb or SD memory card.

@#9 - Glenn: I believed the error pertains to permission issues. There are some files and folders that are meant only for Administrators to access, if you are not an administrator then you cannot access it and will instead get Access Denied error. To enhance security Microsoft has even denied Administrators access to some folders. The way to fix this error is to specifically grant yourself permission to access the file or folder.

You have to check the path of the temporary directory created for the install and give yourself special permission. This can be done by going to the Properties and then navigating to the Security tab. Click edit then choose the Group or user names you want to add, tick Full control then Apply.

Sorry for the long post but I have encountered the same errors before in some of my installations and doing the above fixes the problem. Hope this helps.

For those that are having problems running this software, especially those with Windows 7 64Bit, the problem lies with windows itself. to get round this problem I found that adding to the DEP bypass list solved the problem.

For those who do not know what I'm talking about here is instructions to accomplish this.

Click on the start Button at far left of the taskbar and right-click on the main menu item "Computer" and move down the context menu to "Properties", a window will open and on the left side panel of this window select "Advanced System Settings" another window will open this is the "System Properties" window, select the "Advanced" Tab and under "Performance" click on "Settings" Button, another window will open, select the "Data Execution Prevention" Tab and select the "radio button" "Turn on DEP for Programs and services except those I select" then click on the "Add" button at near the bottom of the window, a requester window will open so browse to where the program is installed ( The default is:- c:\Program Files (x86)\Leawo\DVD Creator\ )
and select the main executable file named "DVDCreator.exe" click OK and wait awhile till the program gets input to the list as can be seen at the center of DEP window, once included to the list click on the "Apply" button at the bottom of the DEP window and after a short wait also click the OK Button and thats it, happy computing folks.
I hope this helps some of you that are having problems.
The delay in the registration activation procedure is only resolved by being patient for the developers servers catching up with the heavy demand, and also any delays caused by thier government vetoing the traffic.

Regards to All, and Thnx again GOTD Staff for another good software.

DVDFab software is way better. (http://www.dvdfab.com) and you can get a 30 day trial (full version) at their website, + plus you don't have to give them any of your info, confidential or otherwise. You don't have to give your name, e-mail or anything. You can take a DVD-Rom Dual layered 8 GB disc with content on it, and copy to a DVD 4GB DVD-Rom disc by using the Option DVD5 (DVD5 is for 4GB blank DVD-Rom discs). Option DVD9 is for 8GB dual layered blank DVD-Rom discs.

DVD burning Quality Options is on the bottom to choose from, in the software, plus on same page is OPTIONS for what LANGUAGES, SUBTITLES, CHAPTERS, SCENES etc you want. Plus software lets you CONVERT numberous file formats one from the other. It is fantastic software !

I downloaded this program earlier this morning. Got my email license in my account immediately. Registered fine. I was doubtful I would be able to burn the download I had loaded up in Leawo. It was a 735mb mp4 file. Only one of my two trusted DVD software programs will burn without converting mp4 first to avi or another form to watch on TV. This one did accept it and burned it perfectly. About and Hour and fifteen minutes. Came out 3.64 gb. Not a problem. Watching it now. Thanks GOTD and Leawo.

First off, I don't care where they are from... it could be a bunch of orangutans at the New York Zoo coding it, my question is does the software work and how well?

Next, Web Of Trolls is not a good indicator of use or reliability. As far as I am concerned, they are just a bunch of God-Moding Script Kiddies with delusions of grandeur.

The developers that allow their software to be given away for free at this site are not looking for a bunch of file leechers, they are looking for feedback to make their software better. Nearly ALL developers have license keys and many have processes that are just as complex. Deal with it. This is paid software that they are letting you try out, NOT freeware!

The only commentary should be about installation difficulties and about how the software operates. Listing alternatives is ok for comparison purposes but whining about getting something for free is beyond childish. GOTD specifically asks for *Reviews* of the software it offers. This is a small price to pay to try out paid software before you commit to paying and you get to keep it once you are done.

If I ran GOTD, these behaviors and failures to follow instructions would only be tolerated briefly, three strikes and you should be banned from participating.

Now on to the software. I read the directions for install and had no problems and unchecked the boxes for things I did not want.

I tried a couple videos and the program burned fine. I used my Format factory, as suggested, for trying formats that were not directly supported.

The "extra memory" mentioned was for the space to do the work, just like other programs that convert and burn. I expect that for processing and buffering.

The interface was fairly well laid out and minor exploring revealed much to work with without needing to open the help. The help file could do with a bit more proofreading and grammar checking but it was understandable.

I agree that having the ability to further develop and use submenus and beckgrounds would be beneficial. Overall a fairly useful program.

As it currently stands, the program is useful enough to be worth paying for however, I would not be willing to pay quite that much for what is offered. $14.95 would be good with $19.99 as a max... at least until you add a few more tools.

Some mentioned that it takes a long time for the register code to arrive for the previous products, and i see from their facebook page said that this delay was caused by their server problem. Hope this time it won't take so long. Anyway, thanks for making it free to get this time. will try first before any positive or negative comments.

To Developers: "talent" is an inappropriate descriptive for a software program. People have talents. Living things have talents. Rocks, algorithms, etc. are not capable of displaying a talent. An operator, an author, a user; these all are capable of exhibiting a talent; this is common knowledge among native English speakers. A better word is needed.
I still use Ashampoo's Burner, which has been the best for years and years, so thanks anyway. Good luck.

Hi, this canny.. (otherwise known as "cheeky-monkey"-like) APPROACH(!) to praising own Software stands a mile, too apparent to shrewd Folks here, lol. Might work elsewhere, but different "show" this GAOTD. Worth noting Developer!:)
And generally - merits, not blindly name, fame, fake accolades..!

Software that tries to change my Homepage is NOT welcome! (BTW - nothing wrong with trying, I don't mind trying/accepting - if so called "back door" stays intact!), but if one doesn't mind tedious undoing it afterwords, or indeed is happy with this form of "pushy/aggressive", AND - happens not to have decent working DVD Creator/ Burning Software on their PC - might find this one useful and attractive.

Second case, and thanks Those who pointed that as well - outdated Codec Pack?? - Convinces me further to pass. Thanks, but no thanks. Hope this Comment was constructive enough for Developer, if nothing else.

This installed OK with Windows 7 Home 64bit. I tried making a DVD folder using 4 hour-long AVI files. It was quick, but made the 4 files into 4 chapters in the same title, and there was an unnecessary extra menu at the start with "play" and "chapter" on it. No support for subtitles. I prefer Freemake, even without a menu designer.

To Leawo: I know this maybe a foreign concept, but TRY NOT TO FAKE positive comments. 1, 6, & 8. Like others have said, it crushes your credibility in a market that is saturated with similar & proven DVD creation software. If Leawo DVD Creator is a great software, I'll never know.
