Looked very promising but there is 2 problems that i see.

1- There doesn't seem to be any kind of 'Re-occurrence' setting for tasks that need to be repeated lets say every second Monday.

2- The Help page is not Searchable so one can search if there is indeed a 'repeat task every...' function.

Sorry, but uninstalled, i would need a repeat function.

Thanks anyway GOTD.

Honestly, this complaining that goes on, on this website. I am surprised the webmaster hasn't just shut it down for all the ingrateful comments and complaints. If you don't like something, don't complain about it so much, just don't download it. Give the webmasters a break for goodness sakes!! Afterall, they are trying to get you something that you would otherwise have to PAY for!!! Pretty ungrateful for something that is FREE!!! If you don't like what the webmaster is able to provide, then buy it yourself!

Not going to bother, due to all the comments saying it's restricted use, doesn't sync and other bits and pieces.
I saw this on my feed and thought it might be useful, but after reading the comments...no thanks.

This information was being kicked around a few weeks ago; it was anticipated that this would apply to hardware costing below $250.
I obtained my information from this site:-
http://www.dailyrotation.com/index.php

It is a summary of information from many other sites a considerable number of which deal with computing and the sciences.
I have been viewing it for many years now and generally information given is credible, sorry I can't be more specific about exactly where and when I saw this information.

#22 - watcher - when you're quoting someone - quote them accurately"

Rather than what you said he said - here is what XPMan actually said.

"Even the mighty Microsoft is apparently considering making its OS free"

IF you weren't needing to be spoon fed
- 2 seconds with Google - would show you this:

Simple and easy to use, I like it.
A lot of organizers have to much going on and gives you a headache just to look at. It has a basic look to it and makes planning an ease. Keeper for me.

#1 Karl said "This is version 8.2.2.1, not the actual version 8.2.3"

Looks like they've changed the version number in the description to match the Giveaway, and removed any references to syncing across mobile devices. OK, as #9 Brian said you can install it in a Dropbox folder and use it on all your Windows computers, but the original description lead us to believe it could sync with Android and iOS devices. There's been quite a lot of complaints about the rating system on GOTD, but one sure way to get lots of thumbs down is to mislead people about what they are actually getting.

@XP-Man, can you give some more info about Microsoft "making its OS free"? You can't write such things and then let other people wonder about it; do you have any idea how many giveaway users can loose their sleep (and more) if they don't manage to find out about these news?

I'll just stick to MS project for the heavy stuff and I'm finding the MS Onenote is the goto now for saving notes, schedules, etc.

I installed it. Poked around and then uninstalled it. It does not respect the native windows look at all, and the entire screen flashes when you do things. I don't like it when programs don't keep the same look as my system.

Also, it wanted to install itself into my user documents folder by default - strange.

Thanks for letting us try it out, however.

The main concern seems to be what it doesn't do, my concern is that it does so little for such a high price.
This standard version is more like something that should be freeware that would possibly tempt users to use their overpriced expert versions.
Software offered recently has more than its fair share of overpriced programs, they say the PC desktop is dead, it will be with these ridiculous prices.
I, the same as many, have a simple android tablet full of really useful functions and programs, all free.
Even the mighty Microsoft is apparently considering making its OS free, if PC programmers want to stay in business with a better get their act together on their pricing policy.

I hated the user interface. I just looks too bad. Desktop reminder is good enough for me and its free. And then there is the wonderful Wunderlist. Beautiful software and much helpful. GAOTD you guys gotta do better.

In this day and age, what is the benefit of a programme that does not allow you to synchronise.

I use such software and never synchronise them, even when the software allows me to.

Apart from not being able to synchronise with other devices in this version, it can be useful for general task management (for students, home users etc).

In itself, the program is easy to use. It also supports multimedia file attachments to notes (images, videos, mp3 etc. - there is no built-in video player, but images can be viewed without external image viewer).

The layout is simple and free from distractions.

The catch is, synchronisation with other devices. I don't understand the strategy behind it why that is. We live in a modern world with smart phones iPads etc. Therefore, most users today won't get much benefits out of this giveaway.

I will keep it for now and maybe make some use of it.

Thanks
much appreciated

The Worst Ever:
1. In this day and age, what is the benefit of a programme that does not allow you to synchronise.
2. Why offering an old version and then ask the user to update AND when they want to update, you tell them they cannot and they have to pay.
3. When you register on their iPad version, an email is RUSSIAN is sent to you. How wonderful!!!
4. There are free programmes that allow you to synchronise. I am sure Ashraf or Giovanni can provide many.

Bored me to death, this app. The synchronizing cannot be done unless we have some higher version and that costs money, unlike this giveaway. This app failed to impress me. Its just too plain and the features are minimal.

Glenn#4 That is standard GAOTD statement. Free period is for 24 hours starting 08:00 GMT Price after that is $46:90. It has to installed and registered in that 24hr period, not just downloaded.HTH.

Downloaded and installed fine. Like others said, the sync with other devices is NOT part of this. This was one of the main reasons I wanted to install the app.

The folder size of the app is 16.5MB. I successfully copied, moved it to a different directory, and ran it fine. I was simulating running it from a USB.

After having the app running for a few minutes, a dialog box popped up and said that a new version, 8.2.3, was available and do I want to download it. The automatic check can be turned off in Settings -> General.

It is difficult for me to determine how long it will run. When I went to Help -> About, it says that it is expired 18 Dec 2013 even though I got the successfully registered window after running setup.exe.

Too many little issues. Deleting it.

For several years I have used version 6.9.6 from a previous giveaway. After I had a hard disk crash, I had the pleasant surprise of finding that the program still worked, from a previous dump I had of the program folder. This is another by-product of the bit of the description that says “Also it is not tied to Windows. Copy the entire folder with the organizer to a flash drive and carry it with you!”. With most other giveaways of the day, you are stuffed if you try to reinstall at a later date.

(I have just seen the new comments suggesting that this giveaway only lasts for 45 days. I await further update on that point)

The main reason I liked it was its ability to create subtasks within subtasks within subtasks etc, with the ability to associate lots of text etc at each level. The graphical depiction of projects is satisfyingly colourful.

With regard to synchronisation, presumably you can achieve that by simply installing into a folder within dropbox. As they say in these shores, Bob’s your uncle - instant synchronisation.

The License provided with this Giveaway shows up as having expired in mid-December of last year.

This Standard version can't synch, although the other versions do. See their page at http://www.leadertask.com/en/buy for full comparison.

Please have a look at: http://www.leadertask.com/en/buy to see differences in function price tag.
Typical for todays money making splittin. This is an appetizer version. The more you want the more you pay.
Hopefully it is NOT the way with your nearest partners friends.
For instance Plugin support (API)for love should be wide open with and by heart. And hopefully you do NOT have to sell yourself to them in order to survive life or even lovelyness.

It is a pitty that the company does NOT make a giveawayfor of the professional version!
On their side they proudly announce regular users in ammount.
Commpliment.
So why NOT share a litte bit the success with those who cannot ..... what ever reason.
This by the way define i for myself as "social". Therefore i do NOT need media at all in real life BUT in stressing times for instance.

Warm regards

After install it is NOT a full program it is only a 45 day TRIAL! To continue would cost minimum $46.++, and for full features over $60.00!
IMO, Giveawayoftheday has never offered anything this bad before!
I don't care how good the software MIGHT be, this program is not up to standards. It will just have to be uninstalled anyway.
I've never made a comment before, so, ....sorry, but I'm disappointed.

Sounds like something I'd like to try and the "Standard Version" looks fine for my needs...
But under "price" it says:

"The program is available for $46.90, but it will be free for our visitors as a TIME-LIMITED offer."

However, I can't find any reference as to how long that time will be, and renewal prices on their web site are hefty.
Could Almeza clarify how long this program will be good for?
Thanks GAOTD & Almeza,
GN

What a con.

They give you an older version, then after install tells you there

is a newer version and if you want it you gotta pay bux!

I still have the version from 2011 (Jan) and I update it easily :)

They should just giveaway a version with 6 months update key.

I just see, that synchronization is only possible with the expert version, not with this standard version. In this case my verdict :

useless!

Installed and registered with problems on a Win 8.1 Pro 64 Bit system.

The activation process does not seem to work. After installation the program claims :

License: Giveawayofthgeday
<b<Standard version expired 18.12.2013

A russian company with name and address, not on the above address, but on the company profile

http://www.leadercommand.com/content/view/28/263/

Can be installed on a portable device, that's good.

I had had leader task quite long on my portable (android) devices, but in the early state there had been problems with the synchronization with the google calendar.

This is version 8.2.2.1, not the actual version 8.2.3

Wait for a new download with correct registration.

Dear GOTD users,
Please note that the expired version in the license information refers to the updates only.
This is the working Standard version of the program.

Have a nice giveaway!
