The folder icon does not contain a further folder where “instrumental, vocals and lyrics” are stored. It goes back to the source of the original song with the voice included. If the file is “in the cloud” turning off your WiFi should “halt” the converted song but it does not, it continues with the background music but with no voice.

I stand corrected, the three separated files, Instrumental, Vocals, and Lyrics are indeed available in the Download file section of your PC under KaraUp for each song that is downloaded and if one takes the time to check the quality of separation say for voice, it is of very good quality and accuracy. A bit of work is needed at times to "synchronise" the lyrics to the sound, but it can be done. Key is to save the changes made to the timing or lyrics and then re-load the song selected in "My Songs" in the KaraUp programme itself.

the song is automaically saved into a Karaup folder and accessible through the my songs tab. You can only play it using the Karaup program

Well, the main issue with this program is that you can't save the file as an instrumental. So if you had an original song (with vocals) saved in MP3 format KaraUP will use your original and only keep the instrumental portion in the program; you can't save it outside the program. As I researched, I found other software (EaseUS's Music Lab for example) that costs about the same and does a whole lot more. As such, I'm not keeping it. Thank you anyway for the opportunity to try it out free.

JC, Thanks for taking the time to try KaraUp, and I’m sorry for the confusion.
Just to clarify, you can save the instrumental outside of the program.
Here’s how to find the exported files:
In KaraUp, click the “My Songs” tab on the left.
Find the song you processed.
Click the folder icon on the right side of that song.
This will open the folder on your computer where the separated files are stored — including the instrumental, vocals, and lyrics.
All separated files are saved locally, and you can use them in any other software.

Downloaded and installed. DO NOT FOLLOW the links to their website. Download the zip file here. It was the instructions for registering. Installed fine. Got registered for 6 months use. No trouble there.
Uploaded my first 2 songs. Music was separated from voice track. No problem. Playback was good.
Lyrics however failed on both ! They added lyrics from WHO KNOWS WHO !

Uploaded another tune : Rascal Flats "Life is a highway" This one found the correct lyrics. It works fairly well.
The AI needs some help. It needs to check for more than just the song title. Let the humans assist.

Century22, Thanks for the detailed feedback — and I’m really sorry for the incorrect lyric match you experienced.
You’re absolutely right that some songs share similar or identical titles, and in cases like More Than a Feeling, the system may pull the wrong version if the metadata isn’t clear enough. While the vocal and music separation works well, the lyric-matching logic still needs improvement.
Just to clarify: KaraUp allows users to upload and edit their own lyric files. If the auto-matched lyrics are incorrect, you can replace them with your own file and KaraUp will sync with that version instead of searching online.
It’s great to hear that Life Is a Highway worked correctly — we’re aiming for that level of accuracy across all tracks.

lyric matching is very hit and miss I tried a song Alice Martineau - Inside Of You and it found NOT generated completely different lyrics to a song I am not familiar with. obviously it was incapable of synchronising the lyrics when playing back. I note that it does make the gnereated media files available in the users Downloads\KaraUp subfolder made up of from the songs title. it provides a .lrc lyric file and an instrumental.mp3 file and a vocals.mp3 file. It does NOT use AI to determine the lyrics file validity but uses the file name or id3 details to search their database or the internet for the lyrics and does no sanity check to ensure it's correct. The song they matched the supplied MP3 file was:

Ray, Goodman & Brown
Obviously they did not even use the artists NAME when searching for lyrics on the web!

At the moment, our lyric-matching system relies on the song title and available metadata to search online sources. For some tracks, especially less common or older songs, this can lead to incorrect results, like the mismatch you described with Alice Martineau – Inside Of You.
You’re absolutely right that better validation is needed. We’re already working on improving:
Artist-name matching
Metadata accuracy checks
Sanity verification to ensure the fetched lyrics actually correspond to the uploaded track
On the positive side, I’m glad to hear the quality of the vocals.mp3 and instrumental.mp3 was good. We’ll make sure the lyric sourcing logic catches up to that level.

Uploaded two old songs, simple ballads where the lyrics are simple and clear. Software blew it completely on the first number - have no idea where it got the lyrics from because they are NOT the lyrics to the track I uploaded and played, their lyrics are completely different and so could not possibly sync. The second track it could not even manage to sort out the lyric and it was even slower and clearer that the first track. Basically a waste of time. Might work for current stuff, but not on anything I find worth listening to.

Our lyric-matching system works best with songs that have widely available online lyric data. For some older or less-common tracks, the system may pull incorrect lyrics or fail to match them properly, which is what happened in your case.
Here are two suggestions that can help:
Upload your own lyric file if you already have the correct lyrics — KaraUp will sync them directly with your track.
Send us the two songs you tested, and we’ll check them on our end to see why the lyrics didn’t match.
We’re continuously improving our lyric database and matching accuracy, especially for older songs, and your feedback helps us a lot.

GGGG, you don’t always need to upload lyrics manually. Our karaoke maker can automatically find and align the lyrics with your music, so the lines appear at the right time on screen.
However, if you already have your own lyric file or prefer a specific version, you can upload your own lyrics as well.
So both options are available – automatic lyric matching or manual upload, whichever works best for you.

if that's AI it's not working very well. The first song I tried was All in Chinese, the second one I tried, the words were all googly, gook I thought this was going to be a great programme, but obviously not

Just a quick note: KaraUp is a karaoke player, not an AI lyric generator. If the lyrics show up in Chinese or appear scrambled, it’s usually due to the original karaoke file having the wrong language or incorrect encoding.
To fix this, you can try:
Checking that the file isn’t corrupted and the lyric language is correct.
Uploading your own lyric file directly into KaraUp.
If needed, you can share one of the files you tested and we’ll gladly check it for you.

Skriem, apparently this program does NOT offer that feature. You could use any number of 3rd party system sound recorders and screen recorders to record the playing karaoke'd tracks and then play in a video player like VLC Allavsoft might be able to do if you have a sound mixer input device or equivalent and set that as the default record device. Windows 10 game bar video capture should also be able to be used too.

Skriem, Looks like it's stored in the cloud. Hope their servers have lots of space. I tried one song, didn't get all the lyrics right, about 99% accurate, guess that good enough for AI.

Skriem, in your systems user Downloads folder there should be a subfolder called karaup and in tat should be a folder for each song processed and in those should be a couple of mp3 files and a .lrc lyric file... make whatever use of them you can if you have a player that understands .lrc file syntax.

Go to the "My Songs" tab from the left. The view again shows the songs. This time, the icon on the right is has a folder icon. Right-clicking on that allows going to the folder where the song is already saved as three files -- instrumental, vocals and lyrics.
I tested it on an Indian/Hindi song. It worked very well.
