Jpeg Enhancer lets you recover images, ruined by low-quality JPEG compression. The technology behind this software attempts to reconstruct the information that was lost during JPEG compression and rebuild the image using this reconstructed data.
As everyone knows, JPEG (.jpg) image compression doesn't save all the information in an image. It compresses images so they consume only a small amount of disk space (e.g. compared with .bmp), but also damages them with a "blotchy look" and "JPEG artifacts". Most graphics editors have JPEG as a default format. And almost all digital photo cameras save images in JPEG format.

Not worth it...very little (actually zero) difference noticed between original and "result" when used on multiple photos. There is some loss during jpeg compression, but it depends on the level of detail your photo has and the quality of the original. This may enhance the quality of some photos, but it didn't do anything for mine.

There is no way this software can work as advertised. JPEG is a "lossy" compression algorithm, meaning that some of the visual information will be lost during the compression process. Once lost, there is no way to recover that information from a compressed image. I suppose for free (a.k.a. nothing) it's worth the price.

The old adage about sounding too good to be true applies here. After playing around with it for a few minutes, I decided there might be an occasion where this tool could be useful, but it certainly doesn't work as advertised. Very heavily compressed jpegs can certainly be improved using the tool, but the results are still very, very far from the claim that it "recovers [the images] completely, meaning that your images will look the same as they did before the JPEG compression!" Mine came out looking flat and lifeless and no matter how much I tweaked the settings, I could not get anything close to the original, uncompressed image. Bottom line: as a free download, I'll hang on to it just in case. But I certainly wouldn't pay anything for it.

The programm works good, but I don't see much difference between the compressed images and the restored images. I think you must have professional eyes to see the detail differences.
