Dear Alexey,

What a great idea to giveaway this wonderful software. I have been viewing this with eagerness for a while and did actually get a chance to get in before the period ended.

I have had a chance to use it and I think it is wonderful. Will there be another chance for those that missed getting Presenter?

Many thanks

David

I’ve been experiencing a problem since I installed the program, and I ended up putting a ghost backup back to see if it was your program.
Every time I try to open the program quicken, the splash screen will flash by quickly and the program will not open. I did confirm that it did open fine right before I installed your program. Can you tell me what your program has changed in (I would guess flash) so I can fix it?
If I can’t fix it, it means that quite a few other programs will not function because of this, possibly all my games. Please reply, I would really like to try your product.

You may just launch the PowerPoint and find there iSpring Presentert Toolbar. The software doesn't change Flash Player settings. Perhaps the computer reboot will solve the problem

Doesn't work. Also having a hard time distinguishing between REAL end user comments and what are clearly promotional comments in the thread. Obviously it's not the "competition" that's skewing this, it's oSpring! Thanks for finally fixing the 502 problem. First download in weeks.

The toolbar is visible by default with every launch of PowerPoint 2003
even after the toolbar is hidden from the view menu previously.

Is there a way to permanently hide the toolbar?
The iSpring drop down menu is sufficient
and I prefer to show toolbars only
when their functions are needed.

The ISpring Toolbar also cannot be placed in a custom location permanently as far as I have been able to determine.

Cheers to the iSpring team for a great product and promotion.

Version 5 will support both 32 and 64 bit office 2010. There is a chance that the product will be given away, but we do not promise it.

#44, I've had the 502 error with IE8, Firefox,AND Opera browser, sometimes trying both dl links 10 or more times before I either got sick of it or finally got the link to work. So it's not just a FF problem.

Although I won't dl this since I don't have Office or ppt, and this laptop's HDD is so small & already crammed, I STILL want to say that it's nice to see the ceveloper participating here & when I see a developer participating, it tells me that developer really CARES about evaluation of their product.

To the developer: Don't let hastily posted criticisms bother you...especially nonspecific criticisms...there are always a few people everywhere who like to badmouth or trash everyone else but themselves of course!!!

Most of the people here will genuinely try to give a good evaluation including details of pros and cons, not just a generalized verdict.

Vista Business SP2, Running in my admin ID, changed my default browser to IE8, extracted the files.

Activate starts, it accesses internet, I know because I have zonealarm set to request approval before allowing access to internet. After I grant internet access the activate it just hangs, no cpu cycles no internet use.

I've been trying for 6 hours now.

I have to agree... $399!? Like that's crazy, I can buy a cheap laptop with that! There's only like less than 8 functions in this thing and you make it $399? Why so expensive? I haven't tried out all the features yet, but it's quite nice! Only the placement of the toolbar is a bit... bad. Dunno, but can you try fixing this: http://i46.tinypic.com/332xukh.png
See the image? If I place those tool bars in different areas on Powerpoint, they revert back like that in the image. Any idea how to make my placing of the toolbars pernament?

Please reply!

I forgot to say that there is actually another free way to insert a VIDEO from a video-sharing web site like YouTube into a POWERPOINT PRESENTATION without downloading any single expensive conversion program such as this one!

To do that it's enough to use a very cool free online file conversion web service called ZAMZAR:

http://www.zamzar.com/url/

What you have to do is just to copy and paste the URL for a YouTube video (or any other video site), choose which file type you want to convert it to (choose MPG, WMV, or MOV since POWERPOINT supports all these formats) and ZAMZAR will automatically get the video, convert it and send you a link to it via email!

Then, to insert the video or movie file into POWERPOINT, please click on the "Insert menu item" and choose "Movies and Sounds" and "Movie from File". Then go to the location of your HD where you saved the converted ZAMZAR video, select the video and click "Insert"!

As simple as that!!

So it's possible to do this simple operation for FREE...LOL!

That's why I consider the PRICE of your product (400$??? LOL!) too much expensive for what it does!!!

To make a difference and justify your price, you should at least add the ability to sync full videos to run over many slides (not just one slide at a time) asap, otherwise, in my humble view, it doesn't make sense to charge such an enormous price for your software (hey, take it as a suggestion and not just as a criticism...LOL!!).

Cheers from Italy!!

I've encountered this publisher's software before in a business / professional sense -- which is the market it's aimed at, hence a price that can be set against tax by business purchasers. Posts on here about oh-gosh-wow, isn't it expensive, are misplaced, because the posters are looking at this from the perspective of a home user.

I'd recommend today's GOTD to any one seeking this kind of flexible, high-quality Microsoft Office plug-in for business or professional use -- and wishing to "try before they buy", because basically, that's what this amounts to, given the usage restriction the publisher is seeking to impose.

As an ordinary, everyday computer user nowadays though, it's not for me (though it has to be said, the offer's tempting, not least because of the way the developer has devoted so much time to posting on here: that kind of courtesy really, really counts.)

As to the developer's own lament about the initial feedback: heck, don't worry about it. This is specialised software for a fairly specialist purpose.

Giovanni, as usual, hit the nail on the head with his post at #93.

Congrats to the dveleoper -- and congrats to GOTD, too, for again proving itself to be quite a resource for high-quality software.

GREAT software. Thanks Alexey.

I have recommended iSpring to many teachers I know and will continue to recommend it.

Some time ago, I downloaded and tested ISpring Presenter. While it was still within the trial period, I encountered a glitch. I sent details to the iSpring support team and received an email from you offering a solution.

So not only do you offer a great product, your customer support (as further evidenced by your presence here today) is also well above the industry average.

I hope you won't be deterred by some of the negative ratings you've got here today and will continue to offer upgrades at GOTD as they become available.

For readers who complain about the price of iSpring Presenter, I suggest you compare it with the price of some of Alexey's competitors products.

Thanks again, Alexey.

Best wishes,

Will

Hi Alexey and GOTD

Don't know who the problem is with but cannot activate on XP pro (SP3).

ERROR MESSAGE
"Failed to connect : Try again later"

There are already many people with the same problem but no solution is forthcoming. I never have problems normally with activation so bet the problem lies with the developers.

It's now 10.21pm UK time and I'm ready for bed and therefore cannot activate before the deadline is up. What do I do now? - UNINSTALL?

No problems here downloading with Firefox.

After the install I noticed in PowerPoint a second toolbar which shows the exact same 6 menu items as iSpring Pro 4 (GOTD from 4/10/09) plus 3 more ("Record Video", "YouTube", "Quiz").

Hence my question: Is iSpring Presenter 4 the advanced, more comprehensive edition of iSpring Pro 4 - can it do everything iSpring 4 can do?

Even though I am following the Read Me file to the letter, running Setup as Admin and then Activate as Admin (running on Vista), I’m having activation problems. The GOTD confirmation popup comes up as having activated, as well as the congratulatory web page from GOTD, so I don’t think the issue is from GOTD. When I try save in iSpring Presenter, I get a message tD “please activate your giveaway copy and restart PPT.” Even after uninstalling with Revo and reinstalling, I get the same message.

Make sure the firewall (which may be embedded into an antivirus software) does not block the Internet connection.

I like #19, cannot get the program to activate. I terminated the activation process. What should I do next? I ran windows update, and there were no updates available. Should I try to run the program first? And then Windows (Vista Home Premium 32) will recognize the issus and update it?

Usually the giveaway activation should pass flawlessly. In case you experience problems with activation, please try to kill "Activate.exe" process in task manager. Then, unzip the activate.exe from the downloaded ZIP archive and run it as administrator.

All iSpring Team was very surprised when we found out that the product got the lowest ratings from 20-25 people within first 20 minutes after the giveaway offer start.
And now, after 5 hours, there are only ratings from 60-70 people, which makes us believe that those first 20-25 votes were made by our envious competitors. :-)

LOL! Don't worry about that!!

I think that the current low rating of your excellent (and very expensive indeed) SW reflects the fact that most people here find your tool absolutely USELESS as they use OPEN OFFICE instead of Microsoft Office as office suite.

Unfortunately a vast majority of visitors here are committed to rate the GOTD products according to their personal needs rather than to its real value and most of them give a thumbs down to them although they didn't even try them!!

So, unlike you, I'm not surprised at all if your SW got a so low user rating till now.

Don't worry, be happy!!

Having said that, I have just a question for you: why is your product so expensive?

Don't you think that 400 $ (on SOFTPEDIA it costs $ 449) is a little bit too much for private use?

After all it costs almost as much as a PC...LOL!

Cheers from Italy!!

If this software is installed today on a PC that does not now have PPT installed, will it work properly when PPT is installed later?

Yes, it is possible if you do the following things:
1. Install the software and run Activate.exe
2. Keep the downloaded ZIP archive somewhere on your hard drive.
3. Install PowerPoint later
4. In case the iSpring toolbar does not appear in PowerPoint, run Setup.exe from the archive you kept earlier at step 2.

I tried the feature allowing the results to be sent to you. The test asks for a name and an email address in the start, but in the end is not able to send the results. Is it some limitation of the non-professional edition, or am I doing something wrong

1. Make sure you entered valid e-mail addresses.
2. Sending information to the Internet from a Flash movie that is running locally may be not allowed due to Adobe Flash Player security policy. However when the presentation containing a quiz is published in the Internet (for example on your blog or web site) this restriction is removed.
