Graham:.. but with so many bookmarks it’s hard to find just by browsing the bookmarks.
You need a file find program.

Some 'Too Good To Be Free'-ware:
Try Filelocater Lite (long-known as Agent Ransack, versions. Register with email)
It's not portable. You will learn (very useful) Regular Expressions ;-)
The 2003 Agent Ransack was more crippled than the current generation, but was good for Win95 (and later) PCs.

I sometimes use voidtools' Everything.

Installed fine but the program somehow vanished to nowhere. Won't try again, but Zeuwriter, the other Beenokle program, is really a must for those who appreciate simplicity and a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere.

Thanks for info on "Grab my Books"

I tried this‘Grab my Books’ during nearly 1 hour It's a fantastic Firefox-Addons for creating epub or mobi from web content. You need to have cabibre installed in order to convert in epub or mobi. The result is very good. The documentation on their web site is clear and well furnished ( go on top User Guide Tab)

This is a great simple program, that works very well for not only creative types, but those that need to build information on a specific subject. I do this all the time and keep adding to it, such as ADA information, or a specific building system. Similar programs are simply to feature rich for basic needs to collect information. I like simple and this is, with a clean interface. I can now move web pages into a collection that I create as well as photos.

Also...

Today's giveaway seems very similar to the widely used 'Evernote' software. When you copy a webpage with Evernote, everything on the page is copied - even the photos, active links, text font/size/emphasis are copied and saved.

It seems that, on a daily basis, we see comments complaining about the negative votes.

Sometimes the complaints point out that the program has only been available for a few hours, yet it has already garnered 'X' amount of down-votes.

Other times the complaints point out that down-voting an offer just because you don't want it or have no use for it is not fair to the developer, 'GiveAwayoftheDay.com', or GAotD's visitors.

There are other complaints made that relate directly to the unwarranted down-voting, but I think you get understand.

The complaints, however, are warranted and an effort to find a solution to the problem is needed.

It would be nice if 'GiveAwayoftheDay.com' would implement one more voting feature. A feature designed to streamline the voting system, with the objective of creating a more accurate 'Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down' voting result.

My suggestion would be to add another 'voting box' that should be selected by GAotD users who did not like the offer and did not download the software.

They would not be asked to give a thumbs up or thumbs down vote unless they actually download the software. Also, they would not be asked to give a thumbs up or thumbs down vote if they cast their vote in the 'not downloaded/didn't like it' category.

When a member casts their vote in the 'not downloaded/didn't like it' category, the 'thumbs-up/thumbs-down' voting feature is disabled. The same if they cast their vote in the 'thumbs-up/thumbs-down' category, the 'not downloaded/didn't like it' category is disabled.

I think this would help to give a more accurate result to the voting system. Knowing how many people didn't like the offer would be interesting to know and would allow more accurate results of the 'thumbs-up/thumbs-down' category.

I would give my eye teeth for a search engine that gave precedence to pages that were in your bookmarks. Frequently what I'm looking for is something I noted for later but with so many bookmarks it's hard to find just by browsing the bookmarks. Google now *almost* has this by giving precedence to items in your search history but I don't want to find pages I found before but wasn't interested in then either, I want the pages that I found interesting enough to mark them at the time.

Anyone who produces a product like this (Ruslan?) is on to a winner.

Tested on Vista.

Pros: Very intuitive interface. Simple and easy to navigate at a glance. Captures pages just by typing in the url. It has very little distractions, which is very healthy when working with ideas. In short, it does what it says, and at a reasonable price. (To get the Chrome extension, you need to click the + in upper right corner, and then choose the extension option in the drop down. I didn't test the extension itself).

Cons: A little too simple. I would have liked to see at least a note option as well to dot down thoughts and ideas, and not be limited to only visual brainstorming.

Alternatives: I've found three different kinds of software, one of which is XP-Man's Zotero (Comment #1), that covers some of what Inspiration Library does, but not really any that does it like Inspiration Library.

Zotero: Free. A very complex tool that offers a lot of ways for you to organize thoughts, ideas, things you find all over the net, things you need to organize at home or just on your PC. It integrates with browsers and office packs, depending on choices. It is - as mentioned - very complex, however, and requires some time to familiarize. It doesn't support pictures, but you can attach images to notes and open them in their associated programs.

Springpad: Free. Online tool for organizing thoughts and ideas, to do lists, scrapbooks, collections, much like Zotero, but with a simpler interface. Syncs with iPhone/Android apps. Supports images and movies.

Freemind: Like Inspiration Library this one is very distraction free. Basically a whiteboard that you get to fill in. Great tool for mind mapping, brainstorming, organizing ideas and to-do lists. Easy to get into, but needs a bit of time to master. Supports images.

WOW! I love this software, simple and easy to use, fast, can see many uses for it over time. So far, I've copied pages to read offline and pages to backup from my own website. Really enjoying playing around with it for the past few hours and have already recommended it to a friend. I had another program that did something like this once, but never liked it. THANK YOU for sharing this with us! NICE!

Hello,

Again, I really would like to see some MAC programs since I must use a MAC BOOK in school. Everyone in my University does. You would have many people give feedback on the programs. I love my Windows Laptop but the school is set up for use with a MAC and all MAC programs. It never bothered me before that only PC programs were offered, but now being forced to use a MAC I feel left out. We need many of the same programs offered for PC, and Anything Graphic, Video, and audio programs. Animation and modeling programs, as well as game development programs. GOTD please consider. There are several thousand students in the Masters Degree and Bachelors Degree Programs that could use programs to help with creativity. Please consider this...maybe a separate MAC GOTD? I know that some software sites that give deals have two Websites, one for MAC and one or PC. Would very much appreciate if you would seriously consider, or offer programs that will work on both PC and MAC. Thank You.

Well, I like this thing. Nicely presented, low-key, elegant and direct. Almost tablet-like, so future use as a cross-device app wouldn't be out of the question.

More of a personal tool than a "productive" one at this stage, a skeleton upon which to hang future functionality. Feels like a perfectly running alpha prototype with great potential.

So, not there yet, and IMO a bit premature to charge for it.

Nevertheless, for free it's worth a look and a few speculative minutes.

This offer, like the other offering by Benokle: ZenWriter, is an attempt to foster creativity. Any person may or may not be creative, and although you can't be taught to be creative, you can be given tools which allow your own inherent creativity to come out more easily. That's what these products aim to do ~ serve as tools to allow creativity to flow more easily for people who may not normally be induced to exercise their own creativity. By organizing your media (images, web-shots, etc.) into categories, you will have an archive from which to choose when you feel like being creative.

Just right click, choose "Print". Then print the webpage to your PDF printer.
Save to your desired name and organise accordingly.
If you want more control, use SnagIt and capture to PDF.

There is no need for this software for anyone who can achieve a minimum of organisation.

@ #14 Mr Free

Spot on comment - we have dozens of negatives before anyone has possibly had the chance to download, install and give a programme a fair try.

A significant part of the comments each day is about alternate free stuff rather than comments about the offering - fair enough if accompanied by a try out to see how the freebies compare to the offering, but often the suggested freebies are quite different.

If I was a developer I'm sorry to say that I would think twice about the cost/benefit of offering on GAOTD.

I am not sure I understand how this works. The website has less information than a children's picture book. What is it - how does it work?

It is important to answer the questions:

who
what
why
when
how

If organizing and finding notes is important it helps to have a video to show and tell how it will work and help. Self exploration and discovery? I don't think so.

Now this may be a great piece of software, or not. I don't know...

@Giovanni
feelDweb, Requirements: Java 5. Java is a highly exploited script that Sun is extremely slow to patch, up-date and release (usually only marginally improved) new versions. (64 holes last I heard.) I am surprised that you surf the web without scripts turned off (a concept IT people and web designers seemed to be unaware). But improved bookmark handling is a desperately needed area for anyone who accesses the Web with a machine beyond DOS OS.

Docear uses PDF Metadata Retrieval from Google Scholar. Google is a bigger spy agency than lawless NSA and has fewer laws regulating their abuse of private information. All things Google are bad, very bad. Very bad and getting worse. This is the anti-Google age.

So, both these get alternatives get three thumbs down. Try again.

Giovanni is right. Way to go haters and trolls! Downvote everything in your path. Even good apps are made to look bad. I hear so many complaints about free products, it curdles my blood. If you don't want it, don't get it. Don't think "I don't want this or don't know what it is but still, let me just downvote it n create chaos..."

Today's giveaway is pretty awesome. Clean interface n not many gimmickry. Does what it intends to do. And its great that the developer himself has said that the upgrades will be free for future updates. Who does that!!? Be grateful, don't be a douche! Over n out....

Very nice and innovative software today: honestly it's a shame it got 73% THUMBS DOWN so far!!

If you go on like this, folks, any serious developer out there will never release any good program here for decades.

Today's giveaway can also be used as a reminder for our plans, but I can see it more as a powerful BOOKMARK COLLECTOR for online reseach purposes, since it enables users to organize webpages by assigning a particular image, name, and description.

THUMBS UP from me!!

As best and maybe even better FREE alternative I recommend you a PORTABLE app called "feelDweb 1.8": in short it supports clipboard monitoring, thus enabling you to automatically IMPORT any URLS in a dedicated panel, giving you the ability to creare multiple lists in different categories (Video, Software, Games, Utilities etc...), as well as sort all your bookmarks alphabetically.

Can also perform searches on Google, Wikipedia, Twitter, Yahoo!, YouTube, Amazon, eBay etc..., import data from plain text files, export it to HTML or plain text file format, or sent it via email:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Bookmark-Managers/feelDweb.shtml

And for a more advanced and professional utility, just try the superb freeware "Docear" (Portable version also available), which is even better than ZOTERO as reference management solution (just watch their cool video to see what this amazing software can do for you):

http://www.docear.org

Enjoy!!!

Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit system.

A small Russian company with a name, but no address.
At the moment, Beenokle is me. My name is Ruslan Agarizaev. I create programs that I use and hope that you will like them, too.

I know their company since long, because of their ZenWriter, a highly recommended editor with a stylish, but calm and minimalistic interface. In one word "user friendly"

I'll try to collect my ideas (if I have any) since long on one place. Collecting is not the problem, but retrieving... Let's see.

The program starts with an interface like their web page. In my eyes near perfect, one key to add things. This works without problems. There is an extension for chrome to collect web pages, but you can also enter the URL and the content will be stored in the Inspiration Library. The interface is the best.

I told before, that my problems is not the collecting, but the retrieving.

This program misses everything for finding stored information. Of course you can create hundreds of collections, but their is no hope to find any information by the date entered or keywords or content.

Many other things are missing or simply wrong. You can enter several collections under the same name (No!). If you enter photos, neither the filename, nor date and other information is stored. You cannot rearrange by keywords, or date. You cannot collect text or other snippets. You cannot create a link between photos and webpages...

A nice idea, a nice interface, but not an "library", where I can find the searched book. It's a long way to a usable program, but a good start.

I'll buy a version 10.0, based on this, with working index.

Uninstalled via reboot.

Thanks to Ruslan Agarizaev and congratulation for the wonderful interface. Work is waiting.

Installed fine on Windows 8 x64. No email requirement so that's nice. I liked their other product that was offered here, Zen Writer.
The extension was not installed on Google Chrome as promised in the description. Their site has absolutely no description of the product or instructions. The program has no help file. Maybe it's because the product does so little.

The descriptions reads, "Inspiration Library is a application for curating, collecting, and organizing ideas through photos and designs, allowing you to save files and categorize them according to collections and libraries. Collect ideas that spark your creativity and make you want to create." That's what computers do too. What makes this special? It doesn't help you find pictures, download them, publish them or edit them.
The description continues:
What’s more, Inspiration Library has an extension for Chrome web browser. With it installed, you can “snap” entire web pages and save it in the library.
No extension was added. Chrome is my default browser. I check my extension list and it wasn't there. I searched the chrome store and couldn't find it. I used the 'Add a webpage' feature and it takes a snap shot of the webpage but doesn't download the pictures. Just a snapshot of the top part of one page so it doesn't capture anything you have to scroll down to see and the pics can be enlarged.

Free alternative? That depends on what this does. If you want a program that downloads tons of pics from a webpage of entire site, get HTTrack Website Copier. It's free.

From system requirements it would appear that XP is not included, and for those of you who still use it you could use the following Free program:-
