I just tried the trial on a shared drive and it mis-recognised correctly tagged privately burned and ripped CD-Audio files to some really obscure Unicode foreign language values! Thankfully it does not apply the guessed corrections so it did not mess up the original files... From this experience no I would not let this loose on my collection of media files on my server as it's just too inaccurate in it's desperation to "fix" something.

You might also enjoy trying ID3Genius, it offers a clean and simple interface and powerful AI-powered tagging features. Worth a try!

ID3Genius Team, now it has AI-powered tagging features too? That's new and not mentioned in the description above please do elucidate on what these mythical AI-powered tagging features are and who programmed them.
I refer you to https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/id3genius/#comment-728124 and
https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/id3genius/#comment-728121 both seem to suggest some problem with the AI and the algorithms I got around 95% success rate using windows media player and windows built in tagging system for both tagging and album art when I was in the habit of finding untagged media files around the internet...

TK,
Apologies for the confusion, I mistakenly said ID3Genius is "AI-powered." It's not.

ID3Genius actually syncs metadata from trusted sources like Spotify, MusicBrainz, and more to ensure accurate tags.

Does this scan your ... music ... file and automatically tag individual tracks... or do you already have to have them all in the right files with track numbers and it just retags those?
they do have software that will ... listen ... to the track, sound hound style and tell you what the track is by re-naming it with the actual track title.
Thanks for your responses

Jax, windows media player used to be able to do a pretty good job of that using the file names as clues to the track details and the track length and using an online database to guestimate which mix of a song it was... no idea if modern windows media player can do it or even if the online database still exists for the older version to do it still is accessible.

Jax,
Once you upload your music files, ID3Genius will automatically tag each track with just one click — including Title, Time, Artist, Album, and Date. There's no need to have the files pre-organized or numbered, it's all handled automatically.

ID3Genius Team, "upload your music files"? Upload them to where? and why? surely an installation of 200MByte plus should be capable enough to process the media files locally and just accessing online databases and not use cloud computing to actually process the media files after uploading them to some unknown 3rd party server!

TK,
Once you upload your music files to ID3Genius, this stable and secure program can automatically match all your music metadata in 1 click, including title, artist, duration, album, and album cover — saving you valuable time.

ID3Genius Team, you/we do not "upload" music files to a local program using the local filesystem. One "loads" music files into the local program.
Upload and Download refers to actions between a local file system and a remote server via some sort of network protocol, Upload involves sending a copy of the local file to a remote server while downloading is receiving a copy of a remote file from a remote server to the local machine. I also note that windows explorer tag editing includes more parameters rather than the few offered by id3genius user interface. See my comment https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/id3genius/#comment-728141 it thankfully did not force its opinion on what it decided were fixed tags without my consent, so well done for including that safety feature as it saved me a lot of work undoing the mess.

TK,
Thank you for your valuable feedback!
When you open ID3Genius and click the "Add files" button, the program simply processes your music files locally on your computer. Nothing is uploaded to any remote server or cloud service, so you can use it with full confidence, there’s no risk of your files or personal information being exposed or leaked.

Can ID3Genius tag CDs?

Reply   |   Comment by David Penfold  –  5 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

David Penfold, huh? bought CD's are read only you can't add CDTEXT data to it, that has to be done at the authoring stage before pressing or burning AND the player needs the ability to read CDTEXT data from compatible CD-Audio discs. There is a plugin for an old version of windows media player to decipher CDTEXT data, no idea if it works with modern versions of Windows media player though. I don't have a CD-audio collection to test it on either.

David Penfold,
Yes, it can! Once you've ripped your CDs, ID3Genius can automatically identify and tag the tracks, even in bulk. Super handy for organizing older collections.

TK, I object to the 'huh?' I know very well that you can't write to audio CDs. What I meant was: can you read enough data from a CD to identify it? Then can ID3Genius check with other databases so that one can build up one's own database of the CDs one owns. It doesn't look as though it can.

ID3Genius Team, not from what the comments say here by people that have tried it. I got a much higher success rate with windows media player 9 automated tagging with album art.
