Icecream Slideshow Maker is a great software that creates video slideshows with background music from the images of the supported formats. Simply drag and drop the images into the program's window, customize the needed settings, add an audio file and your slideshow is ready! Each slideshow can be previewed before its creation.
The program supports setting and individual transition effect and display time per each slide, selection of the output video resolution and the transition effect length. Enable the “Loop audio” option to loop the added audio track to make sure it lasts along with the video part. Apply the offset and fade options for the added audio if needed.
Any created slideshow can be added for posterior altering to the program (“Resume project” option of the History panel). Also, each slideshow can be easily uploaded to YouTube, Google Drive and Dropbox right from Icecream Slideshow Maker.

I have read all the manual and looked online for the answer to my question. I see here that several have the same question but it is never answered. I have tried everything I can to find out why there is no “Activate PRO version” button when I downloaded the free version. I paid for the pro version and need someone to answer this question. Where and what can I do to activate the pro version? Can anyone just give me instructions on how to come up with the button or another way to activate it?

Imagine this would do a lot of "what I want to" and installed like a charm BUT when I entered the Key it said invalid..........that was it..........re-copied the Key but then NEVER could find WHERE to enter it again like when first installed it came up and unstalled-reinstalled but no Key screen again........so guess it's "no workie" and don't have time to play today with it and presume it's a dead issue after today.
Any CLUES?

Despite the readme file providing a registration key and instructing:
Start the program, go to Settings=> Activate Pro version and enter the key.
The settings page has no Activate Pro version button/link and there is no provision for entering the registration key.
I have rebooted and reinstalled several times but an activate option never appears. Has anyone else had the same problem and perhaps the developer might care to comment

downloaded the free version. said it would be v2.39 (19.949 KB); installed. registered for pro within the app. closed. opened. got link for v2.67. downloaded. same size. installed. went to thank you page for v2.67. opened app. was still v2.67pro.

i highly suggest this program and others from the 'Icecream Team'. Their programs are easy to use and work excellent. This is one of the first programs i can say iam genuinely excited to see on GiveAwayOfTheDay, for the pure fact that it comes from 'Icecream Apps'.

You can't seem to adjust the transition effect time. For example, I want a s-l-o-w fade-in. The time can be set for up to 20 seconds, but it doesn't appear to do anything. The instruction manual is useless with regard to this.

There is a setting about transition-time, from 1 to 3 sec:

In the main screen the display-time be set up to 20 sec:

So all transition-times are the same in the video. The display-time can be different for eacht photo.
And there is no Fade-In, only Fade-Out.

Nice program. Very easy to use as well...especially after using Proshow Producer :-/. Music can be added to complete the effect which is always a good thing. NO key-framing that I noticed but fora basic program that's not necessarily a bad thing. The only thing I was a little concerned about was that the output was limited to a single format, that's not a criticism by the way...just an observation. That an the fact that you couldn't choose the destination of the final result..but since there's a button to take you directly top the folder where the results are stored that shouldn't be a problem either. I can hope that users will be able to create their own transitions as well, to expand on the one's available...but as yet anyway I haven't explored the program as much as I would have liked to ( been busy ). But first impressions are a nice program that the vast majority will be pleased with.

How would this program differ from using something like PowerPoint to create a slideshow on a loop? Would you be able to view it on any PC/tablet without the need for an additional piece of software? Can it run as a standalone slideshow, i.e. as an exe or gif format to allow it to keep running?

Bearing in mind that many DVD [& Blu-ray] players will display photos stored on a USB stick as a slideshow, with no work involved...
Icecream Slideshow Maker Pro isn't tailored to creating DVDs, though you should be able to create a slideshow, re-encode it to mpg2, then use a DVD authoring program, burning the results to DVD. Some DVD authoring apps will handle the re-encoding, & optionally burning for you, but unless you really like today's GOTD, you're likely better off creating the whole project in an authoring app & avoiding the re-encode.
You should be able to use Icecream Slideshow Maker Pro for Blu-ray too, using a similar workflow, & *might* get away with not having to re-encode, depending on the authoring app used & the player... there are sets of encoding settings or parameters for Blu-ray, some authoring apps will always re-encode if your video doesn't meet its requirements, and some players are pickier than others.
If you want your slideshows to go to disc, you might want to try Nero Ultimate for DVDs &/or Blu-ray. It sometimes takes a while after a new version is released, but it most always goes on sale for between as little as $12 to around $25 - $30.

For Win7, 8, 10, once you create a video file with Icecream Slideshow Maker Pro you have to use a separate app to display that video as wallpaper or a screensaver. Google & you'll find a few of those apps.
