Samjosephgodman J, it only unlocks PDF files it locks itself and cannot unlock properly locked PDFs that are locked at time of creation by for example a PDF printer with locking settings.

The system requirements including XP and Vista are wrong. The supplied setup.exe was built with inno installer version 6.3.0 which builds installers only loadable in Windows 7 or above, they are not recognised as valid win32 programs in Vista and XP. Problem 2 the installers signature uses a certifying authority that is not part of windows CA store so the signature chain is invalid and depending upon your windows security settings you may not be able to install this, The developer chose to do this because they could get a free certificate for code signing that is valid for 2 months rather than pay for a real widely valid certificate for code signing.
I tried unlocking a PDF that had some rights restricted and the program claimed to unlock the PDF file but the generated PDF file still had same restrictions in place... so it didn't work for a PDF that was restricted by a PDF printer but will unlock the PDF files it locks itself... it appears to put a wrapper around the original PDF data that it can also remove and leave the original restrictions in place or none if there were none. but it makes files bigger with each wrapper added. BTW the program itself does run under Vista it just cannot be installed under Vista due to the wrong version of inno installer that was used.

Without the Password?

Jim Jones, yes it is a trivial thing to do but it cannot unlock PDFs protected by formal protections at creation, it can only unlock PDF file it locks using its lock implementation of the aspose SDK. It cannot unlock PDFs that need a password to open as that is a different type of locking that always requires a password as the entire contents are encrypted.
