Installed on Windows 7 desktop registered, accepted, initially would not run, closed down and reopened program worked, connected iPhone 4s listed everything on phone, transferred some data to compute worked fine although a little slow, will definitely keep and use this.

I have no idea how to register this program...and help doesn't work...clicking it does absolutely nothing. Podcasts show as numbers..no names, no clue what they are, no clue how to add them outside of itunes. What is the value of this program that already required me to update itunes....why not just use itunes?

I'll probably never get to try really try it since I can't seem to register it.

This program downloaded, installed, and registered without any hitches whatsoever on my HP laptop running Win7 Home Premium. I then tested it advertised functionalities, and they all worked as stipulated. I recommend this software.

I just installed the GAOTD on my HP laptop running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit and had no problem whatsoever. It registered itself (not using e-mail, as one commenter indicated) and without any effort from me. I have tested its various functionalities and found them to work as described. This is a 'keeper' program for me.

This didn't work for me. I tried a full phone install, and the programmed failed. If this were a phone that I counted on, I would be very disappointed and as mentioned above, your phone won't be recognized by iTunes

Another excellent option is DiskAid, free today via SOS: http://sites.fastspring.com/digidna/product/diskaid?source=sharewareonsale&coupon=macworld-2014-free-diskaid-license

Requires iPad device drivers for Windows which DiskAid is able to retrieve from Apple without the need to install iTunes.

To add insult to injury, even trying to register the program using the supplied e-mail addr4ess of: ianymanagergiveaway@tenorshare.com
results in a undeliverable message of:

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain tenorshare.com by mail.tenorshare.com. [67.20.74.163].

The error that the other server returned was:

Pretty damn bad!!!

SYSTEM: Windows 8.0/64, with AMD A6-5400 APU/3.6 GHz, Radeon HD 7540D Graphics, 8 GB RAM.

I never post a review of a product without testing it, and trying to give it the fairest chance possible. Gave this a fair chance, this is what happened:

First, it failed to start saying COREFOUNDATION.DLL was missing. Recommendation found on the web said reinstall iTunes. I did that, still failed. So I manually installed the DLL. Tried again, this time it said that iTunesMobileDevice.dll was missing. Fetched that from the web and got an "Incompatable with your operating system..." failure when trying to register the DLL.

I do hope the author will continue development, as we surely do need more alterative programs of this type out there.

OMG, this was a lifesaver!I switched from an iPhone 4 to an android device. Could not figure out for the life of me how to get my contacts from iTunes into Google (which syncs automatically with my android device).

This put all of my contacts into a file which I was able to import into Google. Worked flawlessly.

Thank you so much GOTD!!!!

Installed on a 64 bit Windows 7 PC. Program began but was unresponsive and did nothing. Did not recognize iPod Air. Latest version of iTunes was running at the time and clearly showed the iOS device as being connected. Really had high hopes for the program but may have to uninstall it and relegate to the recycle bin.

I've been looking for an iTunes alternative that actually works. Looked at Tenorshare, but it was a bit pricey for my budget of $0. Installed & registered with no problems on Win8x64. Then plugged in iPhone 5s. Nothing happened. Shut the program down & re-opened. Ah ha! Everything works. Recognised everything it needed to, music, photos, contacts, apps & messages. It's a pity you have to have iTunes installed for it to work, but now I don't actually need to use iTunes anymore. Thanks Tenorshare & GAOTD. This one's a keeper for me.

Syncios Free is a free alternative which doesn't require itunes and works perfectly as a 1-click backup/restore manager for my ios 7 iphones 4&5 on every flavor of windows that I have (XP thru Win 8.1 x64). It recognizes everything and backs up & restores everything without any problem.

This free version periodically requests an upgrade (to a version which doesn't request an upgrade) but is otherwise functionally equivalent to the paid version.

Were I you, I'd prefer Syncios to this offering. Of course, maybe you prefer paying for something which delivers less & is more bothersome than what you could get for free. Up to you, I guess.

I installed it with no problems. It took about half an hour for it to access my 4GB of messages, but once it did, everything worked great. I'm thinking of going from the 4s to 5s within the next week and don't want to put that many messages on my new phone. It's nice to have them copied on my computer now - safe and sound. The only problem I have now is that iTunes no longer recognizes any of the content on my phone. It states that I need to restore to my phone to factory settings. I'm sitting here contemplating whether I really want to do that or not. Anyone else experience this issue? If it wasn't for no longer being able to use iTunes, I would say this program is perfect.

I now noticed that it can backup and restore so maybe it does image the memory of the device.

This would be useful if it did an image copy of the memory of the device you are using.
Computers can copy the image of s hard drive so why can't you do this with Apple devices..

A free iTunes alternative to manage iPhone, iPad and iPod without iTunes is CopyTrans Manager. I have little experience with it but it is worth trying. It's swiss company with known address and phone. For those interested:

"Latest version of iTunes is required for this work."

It should be abundantly clear to anyone that the reason ALL these sorts of programs need the iTunes virus installed is because Apple's iOS is totally completely wholly proprietary, and the way they store and index data is encrypted (NOT for reasons of security but to keep you locked in to their software and OS).

iTunes is barred from all machines at my location - too many issues to list.

You want ease of use with few choices? Use iOS devices.

You want versatility, choices, more options? Go with something else.

I think I'm missing something.
What's the point to have a program like this that is intended to be an alternative to iTunes, but works only if you have iTunes installed on your computer?

To be fair, I don't believe there is one single iTunes alternative that works without having iTunes installed. And I have darn sure looked.

"it sounds more friendly to use than itunes."

Anything is more friendly than iTunes.

excellent program today. had no problems with the install and it works better than most programs. don't know why all the thumbs down and only 1 comment here so far. people you have to try the product before grading it. I have 2 thumbs up for me. Wondershare recently gave away a similar program call any mp4 free iPhone data recovery. both of these program work very good.

Not to be negative particularly when it's free today but you can do every bit of this natively on any device with just a little bit of "know how".

Acer Win 8.1 - Installed and registered. As far as my iPhone 4 goes, NOTHING HAPPENS, with the exception of an animated arrow dancing the jig in the middle of the screen. All buttons are greyed out and nothing can be initiated. Waited for the past 20 mins, even re-booted to make sure, still nothing happening. Even the help button does not respond. As far as iPhone 4 goes at least - RUBBISH.
