I'm not getting the email with the download link. I've set up the account and clicked the Express download but still waiting to hear from them with a download link. Hope the program works better than the download system. (yes I have checked the junk folder.)

Nope, now I try and run the installer and it times out with "Installer is no longer responding".
Redownloaded and tried to delete the first copy but it won't let me as I says its still running even though it isn't. This is looking very questionable and uninstalable.

Still stumped, I don't see how anyone has been able to install this. I get an MSI file in the download. It says on the download screen the run as administrator which I am, but there is no run as administrator in the right click menu for the msi file type.

After activating the program and shutting down for restart, and started it again I see in Task Manager that the program is running, taking about 20 % cpu and 95 MB memory.
BUT I CAN'T FIND IT! I have shut down in TM and started agin, many times, with same behavior
Pressing alt/tab says the program is not present. Running W10/64 on a Pavilion Desktop. I have restarted the PC with the same result.

For those that get the entry code error, it means your machine probably doesn't support the graphics required used by Tannen.dll. Mine currently doesn't but I've seen this same type of error before as a pc tech/programmer.
If it does work for you and you want to run it from the desktop the location is
C:\Program Files\FXHOME\HitFilm Express
you'll have to browse to that location and right-click the HitFilmExpress.exe application and send to desktop as a new shortcut, the install program doesn't offer that option.

Hitfilm Express is my favorite video editor. I have many others, but I find that HFX more often gets the job done successfully without hitting a barrier or just being too awkward to use. I've gradually learned to reach for HFX first instead of getting part-way through a project and then switching out of frustration. It's not perfect, but it has an excellent combination of usable power and simplicity.

Frank G., Hit Film Express is the same as Hit Film Pro except for the "pro only" features. Hit Film Pro contains all of the add-on packs that are available for Express plus even more "pro only" features. Yes, you can have both Pro and Express installed at the same time.

I recently downloaded and tried all the free video editing softwares -- including HitFilm Express. Some my machine couldn't handle: DaVinci Resolve and Lightworks. Of the others, Shotcut was by far the best:
* many features, both basic and advanced
* excellent tutorials making it easy to learn
* output reasonable size files (some produce gigantic files, for no reason)

Will not load errors:

John D, ok fixed openCL.dll , it was missing from the system32 file, at least no longer getting that error code, but now getting the below error code others have gotten:

Alright I have done a little investigating, by the FX forms, as Best I can see, it seems this error (tannen.dll) has to be because of older GPUs being below specs now for this version of FX Express 16:
Graphics card:
NVIDIA GeForce 600 (Kepler) series (2012)
AMD Radeon R5 240 (2013)
Intel HD Graphics 5000 (GT3) (2013)
Video memory 1 GB minimum (2GB or more required for 4K UHD)
Also it seems for you to get the free pack you have to download the newest version of FX Express, this version # is hard to determine since the progrem wont open up to see what version it is. But I assume it you have this latest version to make the packs work. It would be nice if we could just download the packs, but I understand if it takes a certain version of FX Express to make the progrem work or if they are afraid of Software Piracy of their addon.
Maybe in the future, confusion could be kept at a minimum with a list of minimum specs to use the free downloads. I dont think I overlooked any.
