JennyT,

You said it's V11.0, but the name of the ZIP file is "HDVideoConverterFactoryPro10-di49al.zip".

Is it 10 or 11?

WonderFox is a great developer who offers amazing video tools. This HD Video converter will satisfy most requirements of users. I recommend! If you need some advanced features, I would also recommend the products below:

Wondershare Video Converter

Unfortunately this version is a dissappointing product again. The issues with interface, cropping, aspect ratio settings and stability issues still exist in the newest version. In my opinion this product does not deserve the addition pro if the output is anyones guess en elementary things do not work or are implemented in wrong way.
Interface does only allow batch converting to multiple outputcontainers or even different settings, cropping has to use because the implementation is wrong (overrides set outputresolution), settings (like aspectratio) are not implemented in the results, clipping larger files crashes the program.

I wont even attempt to install this after reading so many problems about it and obviously all or most of the raving good reviews comes from the vendor. I just wonder if Wonderfox is still secretly installing it's home-calling devious little app called ***helper.* or not. As I had to locate and delete manually all the various files by that name from my system after a few products I had installed from this vendor.

Will not install. Download says Pro 11 but Setup.exe says Pro 10. When installing it gives the key to activate and then immediately goes to the GAotD website without actually installing. Tried several times but still will not install at all.

xilolee, I appreciate the fast response. I have downloaded many software applications from GAotD over the years and this is the first time I cannot get one to install.

I have tried everything you listed and then some things on my own. It simply will not install. I click on Setup and it just directs me immediately to the GAotD website saying it has been activated. I look in every possible place and do not see it anywhere besides the folder I downloaded to set it up and install.

I am fairly computer literate so I have to say that I know my way around an install. This, however, has me stumped.

krypteller, I figured that had been done as I have been downloading software from GAotD for years and have the installation format down and never have issues with it. Seems as if nothing I did worked until I downloaded it from the manufacturer site and used the Key from the GAotD download to register it.

All is downloaded and is working perfectly.

Downloaded and Installed without any problems. Version is 11.0
Laptop HP OMEN i7-6700HQ - 4/8 cores, 8Gb mem. 128 SSD and 1 Tb HD.
Choose maximum convertion priority, for a test .mkv H265 1280x720 100 Mb, 12 minutes clip to be converted to a H264 .mp4 file.
Almost fainted when the program projected a 14.2 Gb file and 2,5 hours of conversion time.
Final result, actually, was MUCH BETTER than that : a 290 Mb file and 5 minutes conversion time. Both size and time are excellent. I've tried some free converters that did not come even close to this, actually, closer to initial projected results.
KUDOS Wonderfox and GAOTD.
This is a definitive keeper. And as someone already stated, the choice GUI is awesome!!
thank you very much

Clicked the download link and noticed the link gave me version 10 zip file, but when I proceeded to install it clearly stated version 11 Pro installation. So the correct version was installed. Installed without any problems on Windows 10 x64 Pro. It did not uninstall HD Video Factory 9.0 so I had to do that manually. No doubt the Pro version is much better.
Thank you for this great program.
BTW, clicking on the Facebook link to share did not work for me, but I wil share it anyways.

Cheers

Conversion of 33 minutes mp4 file to avi.

WonderFox Soft HD Video Converter Factory Pro -- mp4 to avi 00:05:05, roughly 5 minutes.
WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe -- mp4 to avi 00:03:32, roughly 3 minutes and a half.

Conversion 13 minutes avi file to mp4.

WonderFox Soft HD Video Converter Factory Pro -- avi to mp4 00:11:24 (!), roughly 11 minutes and a half, or just 11 minutes, if you will.
WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe -- avi to mp4 00:05:19. roughly 5 minutes and a half.

This is by no means a comprehensive test, but for me, WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe is the winner, glad i have kept it from the previous giveaway.
Thanks for the offer, but i'll pass.

ew, Hello, I've had the exact opposite experience. I have/had both products from GotD. I just converted 100+ American football games using WinX. Even though I have an i7-6600, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, nVidia GTX960, it took approximately 50-100% longer time than the actually video. So, a 3 hr football game would take 4.5 to 6 hours. Now, I will say that WinX has excellent quality. I think HD Video Converter was last given away in Jan this year. I could be wrong. I have it installed, but 1-2 months after installation, the registration failed. However, I converted quite a few videos. I found that HD VC would use all my cores. Even though I had all cores chosen with WinX, CUDA and HQ checked, it basically was not using all cores. I can't give exact times with HD VC because it's been so long, but my memory is that a 3 hour video would take much, much less time to convert than that 3 hours. It did use all cores. If you want speed and quality, I believe this software is better.

ew,
It depends upon the video codecs, options, and your hardware. I can corroborate that WinX HD is faster than WonderFox HD Video Converter Factory in some areas.
The area in which WinX HD is 1.5x-2.5x faster is converting Mp4s. If you have an nVIDIA GPU, make sure to check nVIDIA for "Hardware Encoder" and UNCHECK Intel. DO NOT CHECK BOTH, it will be slower. WinX's engine is very well optimized to use your GPU to the max and the only video converter I have found that does it successfully.
I personally prefer using HD Video Converter Factory because of its Variable Bit Rate option. I find that the software's VBR is really good and the resulting file size is decent. However, when I convert Mp4s, I always use WinX.

Hi everybody. :-)

1) Problem one: in Option-general-sound, there's the default wonderfox-folder\audio-file instead of the one I chose during installation.

2) I tried to clip six videos (each one about: 3 minutes, 70MB, 1920x1080, MP4), format and resolution output were the same as input ones:
- Problem two: I can't navigate videos.
- Problem three: After I started the operation, it blocked notepad: maybe the priority should be set on "below normal" (I did it through task manager), or you could add the task priorities directly in the program.
After I saved my notes, I changed the priority to "high", then to "above normal", but the pc froze, hence I set it to below normal (again).
- The tasks started about at 11:25am and finished at 12:05pm.
- Problem four: The sizes of resulting videos were from 110MB to 164MB: I expected they were smaller.

3) Then I tried to merge the six videos:
- Problem five: I had the files in "D:\Documenti\WonderFox Soft\HD Video Converter Factory Pro\OutputVideo", copied the path, then I went to add files and found I can't paste it.
- Problem six: In the merge window, I can't see the filenames.
There aren't tooltips or something to allow me to check the correct order of the files.
- The task started about at 12:05am and finished about at 12:57.
- Problem seven: The size of resulting video was 725MB (I espected it was smaller).
About 4 months ago I did the same with other 6 videos similar to the ones I used today, using another video editor program, and I obtained a 182MB video (webm format, mp4 wasn't available).

I hope the developer finds the mentioned problems and correct them in the next program update.

Hope this helps!

Reply   |   Comment by ew  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-8)

Hey ew. :-)

They aren't really my problems, but developer problems, given that another program doesn't have those "glitches".

Reply   |   Comment by xilolee  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+9)

xilolee, i didn't say they're your problems.

Reply   |   Comment by ew  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-15)

I agree xilolee,
Have never been that impressed with Wonderfox products, I have tried dozens and dozens of HD video downloaders and editors, never have all the issues I that I get with Wonderfox convrter.
Within the last couple years, I have tried several versions of this converter, many times testing a short 3 min youtube video etc, (to try and convert, trim, enhance the video and audio quality, but when this program worked, as others mentioned, it took 5 times as long as similar Downloaders/converters, or would always get freezing, or Matches no streams errors on my old WIN 7 64bit laptop, this last test was just earlier this year.
Even emailed their support, after waiting for a reply several days, they just gave me a very generic, and not helpful at all short reply, I sent a follow up inquiry, No reply at all!
Today , downloaded this updated version as a fresh install on my new WIN 10 64BIT Laptop, to see if all the Video downloading issues have been fixed. Every youtube video tested, program still keeps freezing, same error as others has reported: (Cannot create file TEST.TXT) tried changing the Output folder etc, but this new Wonderfox 11.0 still just hanges and freezes.
Again, just another waste of time, with zero results, Sorry, I would never pay for this program without all of these glitches, and lack of support still ongoing.

TK, really? - Problem three: he says, it blocked notepad after he started the operation. I wonder what kind of machine he is on, if after starting video conversing it got such a lag that he thought the notepad was blocked? This has to do with the system performance and not with this particular software.

Reply   |   Comment by ew  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

TK, by "expectations" i meant "Problem four: The sizes of resulting videos were from 110MB to 164MB: I expected they were smaller." The output size depends upon settings and the source video, some videos are getting larger after the conversion, not only in this software.

and "- Problem seven: The size of resulting video was 725MB (I espected it was smaller)." again, the same issue.
And i'm not mentioning "problems" that are not really problems like "- Problem two: I can't navigate videos." What? You can't navigate your videos or output videos? There is a button to open output folder.

Reply   |   Comment by ew  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

Hey ew.

Wow, could it be my English is so awful you can't understand what I've written?

ew said: "The output size depends upon settings and the source video, some videos are getting larger after the conversion, not only in this software."

You probably didn't read/get the only thing I modified in the files was I clipped them, i.e. I REDUCED them from 3 minutes and some seconds to 2 minutes and some seconds.
I didn't change format, I didn't change resolution, the file were about 70MB and they became about 120MB.
If I reduce the length of files, I expect the size will also be reduced.

ew said: "What? You can't navigate your videos or output videos? There is a button to open output folder."

During the clip function, I can't navigate the video to select the parts of it I want to clip. And I can only clip it at the start or at the end of it.
Did you try it?
Can you navigate the video during the clipping?

I made another test with the other program: I have clipped one of those six files at the start and at the end of it, but I could have clipped it also in the middle of it.
I was able to navigate the video.
I didn't change the resolution.
Output format: webm; it didn't have the same format (mp4), hence I had to change it.
I had three choices for quality: good, high, max.
I tried all of them and I got three sizes: 26MB, 36MB, 249MB.
By the way, the operation times were longer than Wonderfox HDVCFP, even if I set the priority to real-time through task manager.
My machine didn't freeze and I continued to use it during the operations.
The file WAS SMALLER than the source, at least in two cases.

First, I had no issues running setup and registering under the most current Norton Security Suite so apparently not all Nortons give GoTD issues.

Second an interesting bug: conversion of an MKV with enhancements easy but take the same file, add subtitles option and program complains file doesn't exist so balks at conversion.

Easy installation and registration, on opening a clean and pleasing interface.

One thing I really like about this companies converter is the method of selection of the output type.
Instead of some horrible and incomprehensible list there is at the top, a choice of Format which includes video, 4K/HD, Web and Audio. Depending on which one is selected and display of the types is shown below in the form easy to read icons.
The other selection is Device, and this includes the various company products, and again when one is selected corresponding icons are shown.
One of the best interface designs I've seen in a long time.

Did a quick test on a small file and the conversion was so rapid I thought it had failed until I opened the output folder.

As a converter is pretty well unbeatable from point of view of interface design.

It can also download and upload functions I haven't tested.

If you need a converter you certainly can't do better than this in my opinion.

Hi there,

When i run the setup i get the ERROR message that the installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete. Any ideas?

Hi propertytips. :-)

Users reported problems with these antiviruses/firewalls, in past months/years: Avast, Avg, BitDefender, Comodo, Kaspersky, Norton/Symantec, pados.hu TinyWall.
If you have one of those AV, you could try these possible solutions:
1) After you downloaded the package, put the setup.exe in the whitelist of your antivirus (this in case the package has been correctly downloaded)
2) disable the real-time/on-access scanning, just the time to download/install the software (then re-enable that function)
3) disable your AV completely, just the time to download/install the software (then re-enable it)
4) boot windows in safe mode with networking, just the time to download/install the software (sometimes this is necessary with kaspersky antivirus)

My download/install experience with the software of today:
No problems during download.
No problems detected after doing scans with Windows10 Defender, SAS free 6.0.1228, MBAM free 2.2.1.1043, EEK free 12.0.0.6971, GSAM 3.0.66.
No problems detected after I've sent the package to (or checked previous results on) virustotal and metadefender; the package is too big for jotti and virscan (they are web services with different antivirus engines).
No problems during installation.
No problems also after doing scans post-installation (with the same tools).
About GAOTD setup.exe, web services found these false positives:
- Virustotal engine CrowdStrike Falcon (ML) shows malicious_confidence_73% (D).
- Metadefender engine VirITeXplorer shows Trojan.Win32.DownLoader16.CH.
- virscan engine Fprot shows W32/Felix:P:Lastsect_unkn!Eldorado.

I'm using:
- Windows 10 home/standard x64.
- DEP always on.
- Resolution 1920x1080, color depth 32bit, refresh rate 60Hz.
- Custom scaling 150%.
- windows firewall
- windows 10 defender (on-access-scanner- OAS - or real-time scanner - RTS)
- gridinsoft antimalware (on-run protection - ORP)

Hope this helps.

propertytips,

Had same problem on a Windows 7 64 bit PC. I eventually ran an XP virtual machine and using the same installer managed to install it without any issues on the VM. Copied the 'WonderFox Soft' directory from the VM back to my Windows 7 64bit program files and created a desktop shortcut to the executable and all works fine except I had to register it again

How about adding audio passthru in your product

Nothing comes even close to WonderFox products. I lost all of my previous versions when I converted to Windows 10.

Recently I got sick of waiting for it to come up on GOTD and bought WonderFox DVD Video Converter Family Pack. Now I think I have something even better still, or is it the same as what I bought? No matter, whatever, I now have the latest and best.

A nice relatively modern and up to date programme on GOTD for a change. Installed quickly and with no problems whatsoever. This software works well and has done everything I have asked of it. If you need this give it a try. A genuine good offer.

1) Says Pro 11 give away but installer says Pro 10.
2) Installer still crashes under Windows 7 64bit with or without AV enabled and/or /NCRC command line switch being used. Seems to be related to missing SourceForge links.

Owen Biewahn,

Hi Owen, please feel free to upgrade your version 10 to the latest version 11.0. It's totally free before the promotion ends. Please don't worry. :)

Best,
Jenny

JennyT,

Definitely an issue with the installer under Windows 7 64 bit and not AV (Kaspersky) related as I had that disabled, but the false(?) positives reported in #10 are worrying with your advice to turn off AV's. I eventually ran an XP virtual machine and using the same installer managed to install it without any issues on the VM. Copied the 'WonderFox Soft' directory from the VM to my Windows 7 64bit program files and created a desktop shortcut to the executable and all works fine except I had to register it again. Also I have had the NSIS ERROR issue (see #4) with other GOTD setups which had a link to a SourceForge page on the error dialogue that linked to a missing (404 error) page. Suspect the installer was expecting to find something on SourceForge that was no longer where expected.
