Downloaded, got serial, installed, no problems.

I am VERY impressed with this program. Very attractive interface, more information than other system checkers I have tried, easy to navigate.

I wonder what advantage having to copy and paste the three components of the serial separately has to the designer. Just a minor inconvenience for the user, so it's not a big deal.

Upon first load, loaded full window size, minor inconvenience . Then it immediately tried to phone home. Why? I wonder.

Still, I would recommend it to a friend.

A pity ! It only works on 64 bit systems -- but nothing of the sort ist mentioned in the system requirements. Perhaps you missed it: 32 bit systems have hardware, too !!

Before installing, I copied the link in the Readme file into my browser, filled out the info, and sent. Within a minute, received the activation code in my e-mail. THEN I installed the software, entering the activation code as part of the install process. Installation worked. BUT...
    1. the RAM tab could NOT identify my RAM's manufacturer, just showed a numeric code (Speccy COULD identify RAM manufacturer).
    2. the OS screen was solid black (Speccy had no trouble providing info)
Program OK, but as Jim said, a number of others available.

Thanks for the thot, GOTD, but this vendor, Ultimate Systems needs to work on their software. Installed, registered and then gave it a run.
Benchmark comparisons used are a joke, it shows incorrect, and incomplete, info about my system and when I tried to see about network, it showed incomplete, and non existant pathways.
I also downloaded their free edition and other than not being able to benchmark correctly, it seemed to provide the same lackluster info.

Different users different experiences. Did not turn off my antivirus software neither my VPN which is connecting me about 6,200 miles from my place. Use the site address on readme.txt file to ask for the key. Used my regular e-mail for software ( which, sometimes, is NOT accepted by some softwares companies due to one specific word included in it ). Received confirmation e-mail in seconds. Clicked on the link on the e-mail and there was the key. Copied it to a notepad. Installe software WITH Revo Uninstaller in a different folder (D:) that the one offered by the installer (C:), entered same info as I used to get the key, and , entered the key NOT copying and pasting, but typing all digits.
    Run it without any problems.
Running an i7 notebook with Win 10 20H2.
Software presents an IMMENSE quantity of information about the computer.
    Definitely is a keeper.
    Thanks Ultimate Systems and GAOTD

I had the same thing and found i had to uninstall and re-install
I believe it was because the password which has to be installed in 2 Copy/past operations had a "-" hyphen in one packet
I was very careful the second time around and it installed and now runs without problems

What does this do that Speccy (free version) doesn't?

Reply   |   Comment by Robert in Toronto  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

Robert in Toronto, benchmarking for one, Speccy is just a nice little "System Information" tool that sits in your task tray that can provide information about your system. Things like hardware temps, memory timings, motherboard specs, device information, etc., etc.

However, there are some instances of hardware not being recognized & temps not displaying correctly. i.e. I have 4 PCs, 1 AMD & 3 intel machines. On my intel laptop it doesn't display CPU temp but the other 2 Intel Desktops it does.

Speccy doesn't show battery functions, driver information either. As stated it's basically just a mini tool that can display some basic system information that people usually want to know about their system.

No email - no registration code after half an hour - yes, I checked my spam box - yes, I used a yahoo email address. Now sat here with a half-installed app on my screen and unable to even use it in any sort of "test mode" to see if it's even worth bothering. It doesn't matter if you've created the greatest software ever developed, if users can't install it without farting about, they will walk away - even from "free" software. Best advice to the software creator/distributor - sort your registration system out. Covering your site with reams of text about registration problems is not the same as actually addressing those problems. (This is general advice that applies to a lot of smaller companies that use sites like Giveaway of the Day to get their products out there).

Install cancelled because I need to use my laptop and this thing is now in the way. Shame - the app looked interesting enough, even if its value would be somewhat limited beyond idle curiosity.

Caution with installing software you can't fully trust. Look into this company's other created software and you will see they created software BitRaptor is the first real crypto currency trading bot which uses Machine Learning. Mining for BitCoin can be installed in coded software; not that this program has hidden code.

Just saying: Thanks for the offer of today's software but I will not be downloading because I don't install software that I might question the coding to keep my computer safe.

If you are looking for a decent system information program there are @ least 3 other free programs that I highly recommend vs. this software. Reading the comments apparently, there are some issue's with this software so here are my personal recommendations:
    1. Speccy - (free) Google search for "Speccy", it's made by the same company that makes the system cleaning utility CCleaner.
    2. HwInfo - (free) Google for "HwInfo" tons of information about your system specs
    3. Aida64 - (Not Free - 30 Day Trial) Google "Aida64" is for more advanced user's that would like much more than the "average" user really needs to know about their system.
    4. Cpu-Z - from CPUID.com, good for getting info about system CPU
5.TechPowerUp GPU-Z - Google GPU-z, get it from TechpowerUp. Good for getting your GPU information.
Of the 5 I've personally used all of them, Speccy is my go-to, however, sometimes it doesn't recognize some cpu/hardware/fan speeds. HwInfo is a little bit harder to understand the information given.

If you are looking for Benchmarking software, here are a few choices I've used personally.
    1. Cinebench R20 - CINEBENCH is a tool to compare CPU and graphics performance across various systems and platforms (Windows and OS X). Get it from TechPowerUp, Free.
    2. Heaven's Benchmark - from benchmark.unigine.com/heaven for benchmarking your GPU. Yes, it's old (2009) but still able to stress test/benchmark GPU's.

Reply   |   Comment by Jim  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+7)

Jim, Benchmarking is such a farce, they are done under ideal conditions (nothing running in the background), that is difficult to achieve at home with win 10 (hundreds of drivers and background software) running. You will never approach the benchmarks that are listed at the manufacturer site. You have to run your CPU at 100% capacity for 30 minutes with some iterations disabled (not possible on a personal PC).

Reply   |   Comment by mike  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+10)

mike, I was just offering people alternative software for benchmarking as this program supposedly does that as well. Whether or not people choose to use or if their looking for benchmarking software is up to them.

This is an excellent start to what could be an absolutely brilliant programme, especially if their other software was added to it. My only criticisms are 1) you cannot print the report as a pdf or print the list of software 2) it would be useful and logical to have links to where drivers need to be upgrade.

I do like the clear layout of the menus and the instructions for the installation process are brilliant. In future it would be nice to see a bolt on programme that checks and updates software.

Easy install. A little registration key fumbling, but no big deal for a lifetime license. This software has a nice interface and delivers a ton of information about the specs of your PC. That's useful for software requirements, troubleshooting, and not sounding like a moron when someone asks what motherboard you have. Network monitor, benchmarks? Thomas Roberts, Re "I DON'T have another email address laying around".

Did you know you can use a plus sign to obtain as many mail adresses as you like? If your mail address is a@b.com, you can use a+anytextwithoutaspace@b.com and it will be delivered to a@b.com. It works with Gmail and my mail provider, but not with every provider. It is a very old feature of the mail protocol, when there was only a single mail address per organization available. See

This is marked 2017-02-02, released 2016-10-13, so presumably, the vendor wants feedback on what to do next, after 4+ years of perhaps lackluster marketing.

    One hit at VirusTotal:
    THESOFTWARESHOP_hardinfo8pro_full-7757282.exe
    Rising - Trojan.Generic@ML.86 (RDML:a6gwUnmm9PdDTXaSz4DeDQ

    Free version includes:
    - 64-bit System Information
    - 64-bit Hardware Benchmarks
    - Online Benchmark Comparsions [sic]
    - Home Use License

    The "Pro" version adds:
    - Export / Import Benchmark Results
    - Export HTML and TXT Reports
    - Notebook Battery Monitor
    - Live Network Monitor
    - 64-bit SSD Benchmark
    - Premium Support
    - Commercial / Business Use License

The serial number does nto work as copy-and-paste, and if we enter the wrong serial number, it installs anyway, then fails to run, and cannot fix itself as a simple subsequent entering of the serial number or reinstallation of the program, it MUST be TOTALLY UNINSTALLED first, then TRY installing again, trying the serial number again, and see if it works.

For me, it pops on screen, title page, then what looks like a black screen with items on the left, then completely leaves the screen and memory, vanished, gone, no log file, no self-troubleshooting, no nothing.

Windows 7 64 Pro on Dell Lattitude D820 2400 MHx Centrino Duo

    Recommendations for improvement:
    - allow paste of serial number, do NOT install if the serial number is wrong, duh.
    - allow adding serial number AFTER successful installation
    - make it work
    - make it self troubleshoot
    - make it create logs
    - portable version

I'll report back with more if I get it working anywhere.

Peter Blaise, Re "and cannot fix itself as a simple subsequent entering of the serial number or reinstallation of the program, it MUST be TOTALLY UNINSTALLED first, "

I edited the serial number in the registry and that worked fine. First, I changed the working serial into a wrong one and got your result. Then I changed it back to the correct on and everything was fine agani. No re-install needed.

Peter Blaise, the video claims big success in 2001. Then declares "after 16 years we are back!".
2001+16=2017, if I am not wrong. And, now it's 2021, isn't it? Maybe not even the company looks at its own video anymore...

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ultimate Systems\HARDiNFO 8\8.00] "Serial"=" . . . "

Yeah, it's there, now, but the program tanks, leaves the screen as soon as it arrives.

On one laptop, I did a rollback to last restore point after I uninstalled and rebooted laptop, before trying to install a fresh copy. Unfortunately on 2nd laptop, I had no restore point.

Easy to get the serial, and easy to install. I am using Windows 10, and the product worked like it says it does, it gives masses of info about the computer.
(I am however always a bit wary about such progs, especially when they are free, I am showing it all my cards, "does it call home?")

Geni Daltes, use a firewall like the free Zone Alarm to catch the home caller.

Reply   |   Comment by just trying to be helpful  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Geni Daltes, No it does not call home :) only if you compare the benchmark results online, but it does not send any personal information, except information about the benchmarked device (CPU, HDD, SSD, etc.) We worry about privacy just like you, that's why we don't even store the registration email addresses unless you check the updates button.

So far it is working fine for me. Gives a lot of info on the system hardware - which is all I am worried about, so haven't tested the rest of the features.

Some people (especially gamers) need to know the exact model and serial number of their equipment to ensure its all compatible with each other, then download bleeding edge drivers to get the most out of their hardware.
Others just download generic Microsoft drivers 'as it works'.
It can also be used in a business environment. If something happens to the XYZ branded boards, you might have to identify which PCs in your organisation have that particular board. Maybe.

Jean Peeters, I'm a Pro user of HDS. . . this is talking apple and oranges. Not even near the same program or functions. If you are trying to make a comparison
I would have gone with "HWiNFO64"

Eric, I don't believe it and if that would be 30 days it wouldn't be so bad. I also have Hardware Monitor and Diskinfo and they are much simpler. Also FREE.

    Quite useless if not portable.
On a mem stick it could test more than one pc, otherwise you use it once or twice and that's it

Installed, registration code received. Clicking the desktop icon displays the startup screen and then disappears. The program does not start.

Reply   |   Comment by Eric  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+7)

Eric, This also can happen if you have entered the serial number incorrectly.

Reply   |   Comment by Ultimate Systems  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+6)

Is it too much effort to show a message, "The entered serial number is wrong - would you like to change it?"
Programs that just close and are so user-unfriendly don't deserve to be installed.

    Ultimate Systems,
I DID enter the serial number correctly. Same problem as Eric. Program opens with startup screen, and after about 5 seconds it disappears.
Are you saying we ALL have entered the serial number incorrectly ?
