thanks for the giveaway...

the only thing is that the description is misleading :( :(

"All-in-one System Information, Diagnostic, Network Monitor and Benchmark. HARDiNFO displays the hardware information in well organized categories ...."

There is NO network monitor in this edition
it is available in the enterprise version at an excessive price

XP showing error message "program error"

for a hardware information tool this is a real shame

Suggestion: make a bootable iso to use it on every PC.

Well I gave them my name & email address but never got an email back. Tried 3 times with no luck. The least they could do is make sure you can activate the program after downloading it!!!

I can assure you that THIS DOES NOT WORK on Windows XP Pro SP3 32bit.
I also get
“HARDiNFO.exe is not a valid Win32 application.”
Firewall was completely disabled + no Antispyware running on PC.
Assuming the GOTD download is not actually corrupt , looks like the Vendor or GOTD forgot to include some Windows Xp x32 files in the install package , or the InstallAware installer is faulty.
Please let us know if you sort this issue and update the files.

I went to their website several times and put in the info and got a message that the registration info was sent. I NEVER GOT ANY. And, yest I check my junk folders to see it my email program treated as spam. Still no luck. And, yes again I tried some alternate email addresses and still no luck.

What is the developer thinking making it soooooo difficult.

And for realtime network traffic monitoring I recommend (and use for years) freeware (Portable) NetMeter
http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/Network/Windows-Portable-Applications-Portable-NetMeter.shtml
(especially useful to watch a progress of big downloads)
or a little bit redesigned NetMeter Evo
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Network-Tools/Bandwidth-Tools/NetMeter.shtml
could be considered too.

Freeware alternative:
recently I've discovered MyPC,
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/MyPC.shtml
"a professional software application whose purpose is to help users gather information about their system, CPU, network, memory, BIOS, and other useful data"
and I'm quite happy with it.
or just check
http://www.softpedia.com/catList/92,1,3,0,1.html
So, how about e.g. SiSoftware Sandra Lite downloaded by 1 212 353 users?
;-)

#23 [Ultimate Systems]
Although I appreciate your response, I disagree with your assessment.
The *same* downloaded .Zip file I used on the XP machine was just now used on a Win7 machine.
It ran as expected there so, not a corrupted download.
[surely your installer does a CRC? If not, why not?]
As for Antispy/Antivirus blocking?
Not likely.
Both the XP and Win7 machine run the same version of Avast.
The XP has no other security in place.
The Win7 machine, on the other hand, has 2 other av programs running plus MalwareBytes.
Perhaps I need to *install* more antispy stuff in order for your program to run on XP? :p

Care to actually help troubleshoot the issue, or are you just going to blame it on our machines without merit?

I have been using HWiNFO , for this kind of purpose, never fails.

I agree with Karl's review as well.

When I read "ultimate" I expect that level. This is not that level. I was hoping for something that displayed heat levels and information such as Speccy supplies all in one but sadly it doesn't. I will have to stick with my widget for AMD that shows heat levels and use Speccy/Speedfan to know other materials.

Uninstalled/rebooted. This may be still be useful to those who want a basic alternative to Speccy.

This is not a valid Win32 application comes from a corrupted download or from antispy / antivirus software which is blocking the correct installation of the program. HARDiNFO is a 32-bit application and it works with Win32 and 64-bit versions.

had to set back resolution to 1680x1050 before the installer worked and when I did set my res back to original after installation the program itself worked just fine on my 1980x1080. needed to use another email than my live one, using my isp given one worked right away, email was there in a jiffy.

pleasant looking interface.
System overview:Program could not detect my monitor (Bravia HDTV through HDMI)but for the rest spot on

Operating system: Developer should take in account that as of windows 8 Microsoft is no longer working with service packs and I think that is the reason my 8.1 update 1 is just seen as 8.1 service pack unknown.
Also the program could not detect in my OS version to whom it was registered and just told it was registered to "windows user" (which it's not) Installation date gave me the last refresh date, not the installation date. regestry size could not be determined.

CPU: program could not detect current cpu voltage, other info spot on. Burn in test went fine, time per pass given was correct (slightly less even) and according to the test my system should work well with the current settings (which should be correct since the used system is not overclocked)

Motherboard: under BIOS information it could not determine the part number(sku)but to be honest I don't know what that is and if my this is due to my bios or the program, all bios features where found. under adapters it could not find anything but I think I don't have them so that should be correct. (I am fine with software, hardware somewhat but no expert)
all controlers where discovered

Memory (RAM): could not determine memory type, for the rest spot on

Controllers: did not show my HDMI, not sure if it should but I think it should qualify as controller right?

Resources: looked correct although also here no HDMI in fact I haven't seen my HDMI listed anywhere

Devices: everything spot one

Peripherals: could not detect mouse info (Logitech M210)

Mobile pc info: could not test, have desktop

System Monitor: all correct

Network: spot on , of course i can't test network monitor (bleh, mistake guys)

Benchmarks: Processor and harddisk went fine. CD/DVD-Rom don't make the mistake to select a virtual cd/dvd drive the program will become unresponsive but I find that kind of logical
however no results where given after running it on a physical drive. could not test network since I have no mapped network drives.
Display benchmark was highly dissapointing, no options to set, a default resolution of 1024x768. Compare online didn't work at all

Conclusion: Developer should take in account that we have entered the HD age and that windows 8/8.1 has some significant changes compared to previous versions.
As system information tool I would give it a 7/10 because of that. As benchmark tool it is a joke to be honest. Why have 3D mentioned with the display benchmark
if there is no way to test 3D or even a decent benchmark at all 3/10

Unable to run freeware version of today's download on XP, appears #15 SpacemanSpiff had the same problem with today's download.

This giveaway HARDiNFO failed to execute.
Pop up error message.
"HARDiNFO.exe is not a valid Win32 application."
Uninstalled. Will never try this again. It is useless (for my system).

When I surfed to double check, found that many others had similar experiences with this software. This bug is common.

As a comparison, these 3 portable freeware alternatives are very much better:
HW-Info-32Bit portable
Open Hardware Monitor portable
SIV (by Ray Hinchliffe) portable

All 3 can measure the voltage of my CMOS button CR2032 battery accurately - without me having to physically take it out from the motherboard and measure it with a multimeter.
Thus I can monitor the voltage over time and replace every few (say 2 or 3)years.

Many other similar software measure the CMOS battery voltage wrongly and give a wildly inaccurate reading.

I guess the website's wrong about it running under XP.
Uninstalled.
I might try it on a Win7 machine later, but it hasn't impressed me so far.

Belarc Advisory is awesome; have used for more than 8 years. See Giovanni comment for link.

Software writers need to comprehend that there is little future in pursuit of that which is already well served. Focus, at least for profit, should be areas not yet flooded: closing the winOS backdoor, encryption not compromised by NSA requirements, making every OS unique to outsiders (spies, agents, governments, bots, keyloggers, etc.) while keeping browsers compatible--don't bother with IE (aka, Information Exporter) no one uses it and it is the most insecure part of winOS--with external connections, auto lock down when a computer is being scanned from the Internet, programs that stop winOS from writing to the hard drive, program erasers that remove that program's entries to the registry, etc. A server program that returns bots to their source.
Those "new" programs that mimic winOS built-ins and other well-known software offer Internauts nothing of value no matter how inexpensive.

I do not know anything about the enterprise version, but no software except perhaps forensics software is worth $495 or more. N-O-N-E. Nada. Zip. The numbers are laughable and question the credibility of the offeror.

Keep in mind that anyone with time and a computer can code ... Software has value because it removes the time aspect and helps production instantly. Otherwise it is a bunch of +/- ... no one needs it.

It looks like you need to go to the Enterprise version to have a useful program, can't think who would find it justifiable to pay such an extremely high price.

For many years I have used the freeware version of SIW which is available at the following link:-

System Information + Hardware Inventory + Benchmark and Computer Management in one single solution.

The only CONS for me is that even the PRO version does not provide you with the Network Traffic Analyzer (you need the more expensive ENTERPRISE edition for that).

To do this, I recommend this FREE & PORTABLE tool from the same developer behind award-winning "Q-Dir":

Concerned:

This giveaway it seems is the Professional Version, @ $25.97
yet upgrade to Enterprise Version is huge leap in light years,
in advance of one version to the next.

That is, in dollar terms what to gain as other features, functionality as from Prof - Enterprise version.

Then again.. I have no idea as how the functionality as Enterprise Version be valued, in be that as behold a price tag of - $495.

This Enterprise version seems extraordinary excessive.

A real hassle registering this software. They seem paranoid about losing a key or something because you got to go to their website first and then enter your email after that you are emailed a link to go back to their website, which has a webpage with the serial number and there is a note saying that your ip address is being saved for security. WAY TOO MUCH FOR A PROGRAM LIKE THIS.
On the 3rd of March SIW professional was given away here. After comparing HARDiNFO with siw, I uninstalled Hardinfo immediately because it doesn't have any of the useful features that SIW has, like password retrieval and you need the ENTERPRISE edition of Hardinfo for nework activity function which makes this version look like a demo. Yes the UI is impressive, but that's all!

Installed and registered (double checked email) without problems on a Win 8.1.2 Pro 64 bit system.

A Romanian company with address&fax : The company has been founded in 1998, as an Independent Software Vendor. We don't see very often companies from Romania here.

If the company is named "Ultimate", I expect something "ultimate"...

A well organized window opens, you can select the views from system info over peripherals to network settings. But you cannot use the network monitors. This is reserved to the "Enterprise" edition. You have to pay.

You can do your benchmarks, work with the registry (invokes the Windows routine) and sorry, you can't do a lot of other useful things.

This program misses to read the sensors. You can't see SMART values from your disks. It says simply "SMART ok"...

You can't see board or disk tempertures, you can't see what your CPU is doing, you won't see traffic, memory usage or running processes.

The build in task manager of Windows 8 plays in another level. But this software claims does not claim to monitor, it displays hardware info. To my understanding this does not end with with motherboard & vendor name but includes, what the motherboard does in this moment. Question of definition of course.

The inability to display network traffic or even collect the SMART values does not justify the "Ultimate" label. In competition with the many freeware it has the advantage of a nice looking interface - and ends with that.

Uninstalled via reboot - I was hoping to have a real HW Info, including disk data, traffic data and other sensor data in one place.
