Well this comment is a bit off base, but i had to say something. My right click would crash my pc and start Dr.Watson Post MortemDebugger due to the fact that "Glary's Context Menu Shell Extension" Context Menu item was corrupting my entire system upon right clicking, I downloaded "SHELLEXVIEW" installed it and ran it disabling the faulty Glary Utility Context Meny Shell Extension listing and the right clicking was restored WAH-LAH simple as that one buggy item, ok well that settles that just so you all know, iam un-installing Glary U. I just bought IOLO SYSTEM Mechanic Professional 3 PC Liscense 2 Years on EBAY For 16$ and trust it to do the duties i need, anyway Peace Out Glad I could help...

One little glitch what a @&%$#! Never again will i install a freebie that works on my system AINT NO WAY!

This is great software. I had the normal version but upgrading to pro is great with the scheduled 1 click maintenance it's very much worth it. If you didn't get this when it was free on GAOTD... you must go purchase this software.

i think i'm getting a false positive with the spyware remover. it keeps flagging:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser

and labels it "IstBar Hijacker"

However when i right click on the entry and choose "open in regedit" it points to ITBarLayout. When i let it delete the key it just resets my toolbars to default (i do have google toolbar installed). Then i have to move the toolbars around again to where i like them, this makes the "problem" reappear. I have run Norton's IstBar Hijacker remover and it says it is not on my machine.

#86 I was surprised at your comment. I checked and the uninstall tool found my apps on other drives

Glary, "Context Menu Manager" is nice. Downloading from this site can really clutter the context menu. It would be nicer if you could add option to ADD new entries and to REORGANIZE current entries.

Glary, it would also be nice if you very clearly added the option to create system checkpoint to front end of the 1-Click-Maint process.

RE: #91 ... Apparently you must be running windows98 and that OS was doomed to be reinstalled every 3 months anyway. If you have a later version of windows may I suggest System restore! It is very rare the normal user will "trash windows" now days. If it happens I would assume the OS install was faulty in the first place and it was jsut a matter of time before it "crashed".
Um.. this does have a regestry back up tool too! Nifty program! Thanks again GAOTD and thanks Glarysoft!

This program is amazing. It has just replaced at least 3 or 4 separate programs that I use and still has a lot more features that I never had before. Not only does it work like a charm, it's fast, automatically makes a backup before it does anything, and it looks great. The program isn't entirely consistent with what each module looks like, but they all look nice and the layout makes sense.
Great job Glarysoft!

Nice set of utilities, worthy of usage by new and advanced users alike. As for the Memory Manager, take Memory Managers with a grain of salt because honestly nothing is better than adding more memory and not much can be gained by defragging memory even on a low mem footprint pc. They only do minimul to enhance pc usage (Period) but its enough on a 512MB or less machine to help somewhat, at least periodically anyway… Glary Utilities Pro is useful, Very Useful in fact and as always no matter what backup before doing a registry fix (ALWAYS) and test system after such big reg changes have been applied. Thanks and enjoy your online/offline time.

I just installed it and then uninstalled it.

It is great for finding duplicate files and the like, but the register-cleaning utility is not accurate. As I perused the entries to be deleted, I saw several that had working links, and in another case I saw an empty folder that is necessary, as it is used by Windows XP for its own purpose. Several glaring examples of a potential disaster was when it wanted to delete a registry entry that had a "bad" link. There was never an option to "fix" the entry, rather it only deleted it.

It appears that the strength of Glary Utilities is its registry fixer, but IMHO you would do better to pass it up for now and wait for it to mature a bit.

#57 "no upgrade" means that it is understood (and agreed to) by us that typically the vendor will block version upgrades from the installed GOD version. Sometimes the vendor oops'es and you still can get upgrades. It's the vendors choice. Don't worry.

#82 I agree, the last GOD page doesn't say anything new, so please don't waste my time

Glary Utilities with its many advanced functions helps a lot in understanding what is going on in your computer! The Register Cleaner and Tracks Eraser are my favourites. A shortcut on the taskbar for Tracks Eraser would be handy. This new version has a fully programmable 1-click maintenance function which is even better. I have used this progam with Win XP for about 6 month without any problem!

OK. The main difference in today's offering, Glary Utilities PRO version 2.3.1.92, and the GU version offered here in May is auto-update. Some comments suggest that Glary will allow downloaders of this offering to update in future and the program will remain permanently functional - in direct contradiction to GOTD rule #2 - No Free Upgrades.

As for manually updating the former version, some say they tried but couldn't update, some say they didn't try because of GOTD rule #2, , and some say they could and did upgrade without the program reverting to a temporary, trial status

I'm confused. Does someone actually know which scenario is correct?

I'm a little sensitive about this issue. I've downloaded several GOTD programs that auto-updated themselves and as a result reverted to temporary status, and stopped functioning two weeks later. (There's a discussion in the GOTD forums.) As a small business owner, I consider that bad business.

If updating, auto or manual, is included with a GOTD program, it should be made clear.

If a GOTD program auto-updates itself and in dong so, reverts to temporary trial status, that should also be made clear.
In addition, instruction on how to prevent that from happening should be provided. Otherwise, it's really just bait-and-switch, which is fraudulent.

A versatile set of utilities--many user customizable options a very big plus.
The modules I tested worked very well.
Disk Cleaner found and removed the temporary files I chose to remove without a hitch.
Shortcut Fixer found four non-working links. (One of these was to a jpg pic I refer to frequently, so technically it was identified correctly as a non-executable link, though I would not want to remove it.)
I did not use the Registry Cleaner--A possibly minimal gain in Windows startup time but potentially disastrous results.
Startup Manager is a much safer option
I like that clicking on Details> More Information for each program refers to Glarysoft website which explains program function-- and optionally a Google search for additional details if needed.
Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel 2.6 (http://www.mlin.net/) has much the same functionality but provides no guidance as to each program's function.

I used the previous version and it kept deleting all the files in my start bar without me doing a thing. Sometimes this rendered my programs useless as i couldnt find another .exe file to run them from!

It is probably a great program, but be careful how you use it. I won't be using it again, losing the start bar is awful!

Glary Utilities is one of the best tools out there in my opinion, specially the free version. Expecially if you don't care for the "1-click maintenance" option. Personally I rather use each module at a time, so I know what I'm deleting. The "Adware and Spyware" clean up is part of the Registry Cleaner, so I don't think it does much more than remove registry entries. You'd have to remove the files by hand or using an anti spyware program. I think it's only really usefull if one of those programs miss something in the registry.

An other nice tool that I've found to speed up XP is Thoosje Quick XP Optimizer: http://www.thoosje.com/Optimizer.html
It really does a great job, far better than anything that I've come across on the net. Try it, you'll be pleasantly surprised! Other than other programs it really makes a difference.

Lastely: GOTD, please unmark the "Add to your favorites" option in the activiation program. It's becoming really, really, really annoying having to opt out every time. Your already in my favorites and one time is enough.

#53 I am using Windows XP Pro sp2 and I have not had any of the problems that you listed. I started using this program (in the form of Absolute Un-installer) in 2005. We have such a big difference in our experiences with this program that I wonder if you have a problem outside of "Glary Utilities" itself.

I too am using Windows XP

WARNING!!! Does anyone recall the LAST TIME this was offered AND, the HUGE number of posts, mostly " I LOVE IT" then later... " OH MY GOD, WHERE ARE MY PROGRAMS, THE START/PROGRAMS menu shows EMPTY FOLDERS ?!?!

Too many people ( myself included ) trashed windows with this app. It cost me a new PC and the previous 'top end" system is still down.

People, BE CAREFUL! This app, is used without Qualified PC Technical Experience is like a loaded gun in the hands of a 5 year old. Just go back in the archives and find the last time aoffered and READ the posts if you doubt me. Many NON-Dummys who raved at first where crying HELP ME 12 hours-days later. Big fat foot in mouth. And it COST those of us many hours of grief. Myself like 60 before I gave up and bought a new system ( my case: all behavior mimicked that of spy/malware yet no sw could find any, ultimatly in a panic and sleep deprived I put an infected flash drive from a friend into usb and got 565 malware "critical" buggers that ate up 20 gigs of vital data in front of my eyes after disabling all defenses and taking admin privelages faster than I could delte new users created by the malware)( so Glary was only the primary Problem, and that was because "I" trusted that sw offered here was "user safe" HAHA!) Be careful.... don't mess with Mother Bills OS or asta la vista Windows ( unless you like fixing problems you created for NO reason beyond your inexperienced presumption that you could make your system work "better"
just my opinion ( and oh 100 others I know of)

I used the last Glary GAOTD, it over cleaned my system (due to my lack of attention to what it was actually doing). I lost wordpad.exe, crippled my registry, thwarted my right-click menu, etc. So I dl'd this with some trepidation.

Using this Pro version very carefully, I am completely pleased with the results. It's currently on my Vista laptop and I carefully used the Internet Explorer Assistant to reset some things that were hijacked by an ISP. The Disk Analysis feature is outstanding: it gives a breakdown of where all the hard drive memory has been allocated so you can free up space. The File Splitter/Joiner is extremely useful and offers a self-joining feature so anyone can rejoin the file segements you've mailed to them. The Windows Standard Tools is extremely helpful, too. I ran System File Checker from there and verified that all my windows files were secure.

Lastly, with the previous Glary version, I used the Memory Optimizer daily and had it startup with my system. It did a good job of freeing up RAM, never interferred, and I only uninstalled it because I found SpeedUpMyPc....which has an admittedly ridiculous name, but is the most outstanding optimizer I've found to date. And I've tried alot of them.

Meanwhile, to reinforce what others have said, USE THIS TOOL WITH AWARENESS. It's very easy to delete something vital without realizing it.

#8 I agree. To add to that, does anyone know if this software is better than Premium Booster v2.2.0.1400, a previous Giveaway from GOATD? I always wondered why that software was a giveaway except you were unable to update the software without losing the acvtivation registry. Luckily I performed a system restore to stick with the same version.

#23 That was actually Kinda Funny, so If I refer to myself I will make a technical point. Its Funny if the people I refer to, actually re-visit here and read the comment I wrote in response. Let me know if you do, that would be interesting and maybe make another point to everyone at the sametime.

#63 Ask anyone here or help? Common Problems/Corrections: 1: "Be sure to Download and "Save" File. (Do not select Run). 2: "Be sure to locate file and extract to location or select "extract to here." 2-3 files should now be visible. 3: Double Click "activate.exe" file. BE SURE TO READ ALL POP UPS. 4: Double Click "setup.exe" and install program. Be sure to add a desktop shortcut or to start menu. BE SURE TO SELECT "READ ME" DURING FINISH OF INSTALL (or if it should appear during activation process.) This will sometimes include Registration Info and Keys.

One more thing, It is hard for me to believe that There is not just one person in here promoting System Mechanic. Therefor I ask to be honest and just promote your site once. My reason for disbelief in the greatness of System Mechanic is because I purchased a much earlier vesion (suite) and it was crap. I would honestly give the trial a test and see how great it is.

Good Day everybody!

I have used this program since its introduction. Previously I used "Absolute Un-installer" by Glary. I still use both of these programs almost daily. While they contain many of the same bundled applications, I choose the program to use based on how many mouse clicks it takes to get to the application that I want to use.

"Glary Utilities Pro" does almost everything exceptionally well. The program's un-installer is much faster than the one that comes with Windows XP. You can find the program that you want to un install by typing in the first few letters of the program's name. Very nice if you have a lot of programs installed on your computer.

Technical support from Glary (I do have purchased and licensed copies)has been very fast and always solves the problem on the first try.

The "Absolute Un-installer" program has changed considerably over the years. Most of the original applications supplied with "Absolute Un installer" have been moved to "Glary Utilities Pro".

The only problem that I have using Glary Utilities Pro comes with having multiple hard drives installed on my computer. If I have "Glary" installed on my C-drive, the only programs that its lists for un-installation are those that are on the C-drive. If I want to use "Glary" to un install programs on my D-drive, I have to have "Glary" installed on my D-drive. If you have multiple hard drives, the "Glary" program must be installed on each of them to use the un install feature.

Did you read the readme when you installed the program? If you don't activate it, it will be a trial version. If you read the readme, which you should always do with these giveaways (because they sometimes change), it should activate properly and stay active beyond the trial period.
