Tried it and it seems to go a good job in improving photos of people.
Skin tones are better.

Tried four times to install the software and each time received an error message saying it had stopped working. Never did get it to install.

Like we need something to help people lie about their apearance online!

and at stated version 1.0 and apparently is still buggy to the point that it crashes on opening some photos suggests it's not even been throught closed internal alpha testing let alone private beta testing before asking people to pay for it! The downloadable documentation https://www.luxand.com/documentation/

The PDF file in its meta data says it was produced using MS Word 2007 27/01/2010 14:02:58 and the copyright in the document is "Copyright © 2005–2010 Luxand, Inc." and on the screen shot of the trial notification window the program has a copyright notice of 2009! and from the product page "Luxand Glamourizer 1.0, released on 09/24/2009" suggesting this was cobbled together as a proof of concept demo for their face related SDK products, never fully tested and debugged and just pushed out as a commercial product to try and make a buck!

The included EULA agreement says some odd things:

" This Agreement will remain in effect for 1 year following the download of the Software. At the end of this period, delete or destroy your copy of the software and obtain a new copy from Luxand, Inc."

Why? the program has been stagnant and abandoned since first publication back 9 years ago!
Also

" LUXAND GLAMOURIZER IS DISTRIBUTED "AS IS". NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND IS EXPRESSED OR
IMPLIED. YOU USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE AUTHOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DATA LOSS,
DAMAGES, LOSS OF PROFITS OR ANY OTHER KIND OF LOSS WHILE USING OR MISUSING THIS SOFTWARE."

in the screen shot of the trial notification window in the documentaion they offer a 30 day money back garantee either the EULA is lying or the documented in program advert is lying.

What is provided is not even a trial but a disabled program that must be activated before it will even attempt to load a picture..

Hi, this one is about GOTD Comments here, and specifically about 'You can also add comment via (f Facebook)'..
I cannot speak for others, but myself. I have never used that Plugin here, or gave GOTD permission to link my GOTD Account with my fb Account!!

Yet, going to homepage of Today's Giveaway, https://www.luxand.com/glamourizer/ - I can see ALSO next to Comments there - this time my fb Profile pic and underneath 'f Facebook Comments Plugin'. I DO NOT see that Plugin on every, or any other Page I visit of Software not connected to GOTD Giveaway, or any non-software Page for that matter! Neither have I changed lately, or at any previous occasion my settings on fb possibly linking me via THAT Plugin to any Software!
What on earth is going on!?? What or who is doing this? My Chrome settings are the same as had been for long time too.
I'm also signed off from hotmail Account I use here. Do that after every session visitting mail page.

Are we therefore automatically connected to fb by GOTD via that Plugin simply visiting GOTD page??
I'm most unhappy about that and would appreciate some explanation and help. How I use my fb is entirely my business, together with staying logged in or off, but I certainly do not use it to advertise ANY Software there. Not me!! Thanks in advance.

Tony,
Thanks very much Mate for this link! Very helpful. Topical story then, eh?..

fran, The Facebook comments plugin is used on millions of sites. If you're logged in to Facebook, your image will show on those sites with Facebook comments. It's NOTHING to do with GAOTD, and EVERYTHING to do with Facebook.

Either log out of Facebook before browsing other sites, or install one of the many addons that block Facebook on sites other than their own. And, by the way, even if the page just has a Facebook 'like' button, they are tracking your presence there.

fran, you are most welcome fran...It makes me happy knowing I helped someone out and the twelve likes are the best I have ever done lol....As for glamorizer it said I would get an email within the hour but that was ten hours ago...still nothing, but oh well I don't even want it anymore after reading the comments.

Same here (W10x64): completely froze after about 20 minutes working on the same photo. Not a big loss, though, as there is no possible tweaking to the "glamourization" process, so it is probably just some blurring and added contrast. Useless.

After reading your comment, I decided to go to the website. Their website states at the bottom:
Luxand Glamourizer 1.0, released on 09/24/2009
Supported OS: Windows XP/Vista/Seven

That is nine years ago.............no wonder......no 64 bit operating machines back then either.

I'm glamorous enough already ;)
Interesting looking facial recognition products from this company. I'd happily install this if I had any need for it.

If I want to do this professionally I'd use Photoshop so I have control, if I wanted to do it for fun I'd use one of those horrible Apps so no need for this

Installed on my Windows 10 Desktop. I received the registration key within 5 minutes. I used Soft Organizer to trace and install the program. I opened two different photos and the program crashed with each photo. I uninstalled the program and Soft Organizer found 46 traces of the program remaining on my machine after the uninstall.
Thanks, GAOTD but No Thanks.
