I'd like to know who owns the rights to the work(s) produced, the artist or the platform?

I've looked throughout this website and there's no place to paste the code.

Let's talk sizes. This program is mainly for posting things online on your social media accounts where proportions aren't critical. I looked forward to using the program to actually order photographic prints, but there's no way to dimension the finished product in standard print sizes of 8x10, 5x8, 4x6, 16x20 inches. Even if you use the program to share your collages via email, the recipient doesn't have a way to print them out in those standard photo print sizes. Our photo frames are all those sizes also, obviously. I understand that Europe tends to use square things in photos and stationery. But here in the U.S., all our photo processing equipment is set up for rectangles and you pay a premium for square things.

Daug, thank you for enjoying this giveaway for FotoJet Plus and thank you for your question regarding to custom sizes. Here, we'll show you three ways to make any size you want using FotoJet.
1) Choose "Photo Grid" in COLLAGE mode and you can custom size for these layouts by tying the specific size in the size boxes below the canvas.
2) In DESIGN mode, all the templates are preset to a fix size. Like all social media designs are just preset to the size which just meet their platforms' requirements. But you can customize the design size with a blank template by clicking Custom Size under DESIGN mode once. This feature is only available for FotoJet Plus members. Thank you.
3) The last way, save the image you made first. Then, resize the output image using EDIT mode. Just click Resize and type your size in the box and click Apply. That's OK. Thank you.

If you have any other question or suggestion, please feel free to contact our support team at support@fotojet.com. Thank you.

Thank you for participating here, PearlMountain Limited & FotoJet Team. The screenshots and website look very nice, but like others I'm not willing to commit my hard work to a network connection to someone else's equipment, where I have limited or zero control over my materials, work and/or backup procedures.

There are also a number of typographical errors in the privacy policy, calling into question the care and detail given to your products. In particular, the line "PearlMountain Limited reserves a right to use your shared pictures, profile, or content for its business promotion" leaves the definition of "content" very vague.

Beside that, based on messages that have passed moderation in the first 6 hours of today's promotion, all the "FotoJet Team" contributed to this message area was a review of signup procedures, completely ignoring all requests for specific information.

Sorry, I won't mess around with an online-only product or half-baked participation. Thank you anyway.

Dan, thank you for your suggestion. We'll check our privacy policy and make some amendments if needed. And we'll consider developing desktop app in future so that you can download it to your computer and use it without network.

My daughter is an art student and I recommended her no to bother with offers like this. Online applications for creative work is forbidden, unless you wish to put your exclusive design ideas in the public domain or to let someone to make a buck out of your talent.

I just did a simple photo edit for a family photo yesterday, so I tried the same thing using Fotojet and also FotoFlexer, another free online photo editor I've used occasionally in the past. The edit was pretty simple: crop photo, rotate cropped area 50 deg to make a diamond shape within a square frame, fill the 4 triangular corners with 2 different colors.

Fotojet was quicker to load than FotoFlexer. Neither supports drag-and-drop, but both were quick to display the uploaded image picked from a file selection dialog box. FotoFlexer was able to crop the image, but failed at step 2: it can only rotate images by 90 deg. Fotojet got one step further: it was able to fine-rotate the image easily and interactively. Unfortunately it could not rotate the full image within a containing frame, it simply cropped the image to square and threw away the edges as it rotated. Neither got as far as being able to color-fill the corners.

So it looks to me like Fotojet is faster and more capable as an online image editor than FotoFlexer, but neither has much flexibility compared to local image editors.

Felix Crevat, thank you for your comment. FotoJet supports drag-and-drop. If you don't know how, please check its tutorial here:http://www.fotojet.com/tutorial/. Or just contact us at support@fotojet.com. Thank you.
Users can rotate images within the frame by 90 degrees using Rotate&Flip feature while fine-rotate the image easily and interactively together with the frame.

Could you please let us know what exact do your refer to by saying"being able to color-fill the corners"? Thank you very much for your support.

Sure, it's "only" for 6 months, but it's better to have 6 months of a premium service level than 6 months of not-premium level. Frankly, I'm one of those crazy (I guess) people that are willing to pay for a premium service if I've had a good chance to try it out first, especially for an extended period of time like this is. Thank you, GAOTD!

Everything Online model will not succeed, reason is you must have reliable 24/7 Internet connection and be dependent on your ISP to provide that. Furthermore, if you cancel, they will destroy your allocation on their servers and you lose you projects.
The privacy is another big issue, they make you confess that if someone steals your projects, they are not responsible for anything to you. If they go out of business, they are not to be held responsible again.
Their servers are exposed to hacking 24/7 and I wonder who else can access your work.
What about if their servers are down and you need an urgent copy of some projects, what do you tell your client(s), sorry we can not provide a copy of your inquiry, call back in a while.
You can not run a business depending on someone else's reliability of their business.

I run a small business and have various projects at various stages of development, if my ISP is down or their servers are down, I will pay my employees for seating around and the project(s) will be delayed and or never finished if my contract to finish it by certain time is not held by me and for sure I will lose my own clients forever.

Security is another big issue, I have employees who work from home many times, what do I do, give them the password to everything on that server or exclude them for security reason. Who do you blame if our web server get hacked with ransom ware, viruses or wipe out of the data, my employees or the Online servers?

The Online software may be good for individual who writes a poem or two, but for serious projects, long time projects or to run a business is NOT.

FotoJet Team,

Maybe useful advice if it had been posted five hours earlier.
Personally I agree with the comments about the aversion to "rentalware" and will not be downloading.

Same here. Six months. Not worth trying for 6 months. I try these new things in between real work so it takes a while to get into them . I might just be getting into it and then WHAM --- it no longer works.

Agree that I'll pass because of the 6 month limit. It might be several months before I'd even be able to try this. I don't want to be in the middle of some complicated project and then lose it.

Reply   |   Comment by Sheila  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+28)

Sheila,

The developer needs to present much more description of the features of FotoJet Plus and a good argument as to the advantages of "why" their online cloud-based product/service should be preferred over other more conventionally-installed/owned traditional titles.

I can think of one advantage: to be able to work on projects from any device (that can run Flash Player) without general concern for hardware compatibility, installation, or update issues -- assuming changing devices is allowed, and that any latest features or new templates or graphics libraries are automatically included as part of the "subscription" as they become available.

However, some real concerns expressed in the few existing comments (on display at this time) should be addressed, such as: what happens if one is in the middle of a project and the subscription runs out. Are they allowed to complete, with full "Plus" features available, that one particular "final" project?

Or would a user be allowed to complete at least ONE project (or perhaps a minimum of 3?), regardless of, and beyond the cut-off date for, a 6-month subscription time limit in exchange for having paid "in advance" so as to retain some shred of customer satisfaction?

If so, and the projects are THAT important to the user, then perhaps it would be worth the price of a paid admission.

Reply   |   Comment by HMarx  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-6)

HMarx, thank you for your comment. I think 6 months should be enough for almost everyone to finish a desired design. After six months, they can still use all the free resources and features without crowns. If they prefer the resources and features with crowns, they need to upgrade their account to premium ones.

And during the 6 months, users can create as many projects as they want using their FotoJet Plus accounts. There is no limit.

I agree with Bob -- I'm not even going to "download" this OFFER....

Just six months -- AND it only operates online?

Why bother? Not everyone has an unfailing Internet connection ALL the time -- and, if you lose it for one SECOND, you've lost all your work.

Sorry -- can't be bothered...
