   Couple of days ago, began receiving posting alerts for a thread I don't recall subscribing to (http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/81). Attempted to cancel the subscription but found my log in no longer worked; apparently an incorrect password which I also don't recall changing.

   Tried to have password resent but am also having trouble with that; some kind of "key not found" message and hitting link.

   Anyway, had to create new registration just to post this message.

   SO, 1) how can I cancel subscription to thread, 2) how can I retrieve password to do this, and 3) how can I delete this new registration which I'll never use after fixing problems 1 and 2? Thanks.

   Hi, it's no problem to delete your profile, you just should tell me what's your OLD name/profile.
   The link you posted is dead - so I can't take you off.

   Thanks a lot for responding.

   After posting this, finally received password e-mail for account that was receiving Notification alerts for http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/81.

   Was successful in logging in with new password. Clicked on link above and noticed at top of page to "Add this topic to your favorites." Doesn't that imply that I shouldn't have received Notifications for new posts on this topic since this wasn't selected by me as a favorite?

   BTW, you'll notice that I posted this message using the account (MidnightRambler) that was receiving the erroneous notifications. After this issue is resolved, will have to delete "LowRider" account.

   As you see, the new profile is deleted.
   Let's hope the other issue will be solved too.

   Per you PM suggestions:
   1) Added that thread as a favorite from within MidnightRambler account and then deleted it but just found two more notifications about new postings within the thread, and
   2) there is no un-subscription link in the notification e-mail.

   The notifications have in effect become spam.

   Generally you want to get a mail when a new entry is posted in one of your favourites?
   If not, just edit your profile, uncheck:
   

   
   Notification by e-mail .. Send me a message when a new entry is posted in one of my favourites.

   I'm sorry, I can't give you more help. It seems, it's one of such glitches which shouldn't occur. I'll contact the project administrator.

   Not to beat a dead horse but yes, I do want an e-mail alert for new posts in favorites.

   But I experimented as you suggested in your PM ("ADD that thread and then delete it again, maybe that helps.") by adding the nuisance thread as a favorite and then immediately deleting it (as a favorite) just to see if there is indeed a glitch in the forum's new layout. That I still got a notification even after deleting the thread's favorite status proves the glitch.

   Hope the project administrator can solve this glitch.
