   I don't think it's a VM by itself. I think it's designed to complement other VM software by helping managing the virtual disks. A copy of Virtualization Manager was given away a while back.

   I plan to try the program on the week-end.

   Incidentally, Techrepublic has posted a blog entry about Paragon Go Virtual. It's a how-to tutorial on transferring Windows XP settings over to Windows 7...

   It was my first visit to the techrepublic :-)

   I have a fine but old HP scanner which I use a few times per year.
   The driver hasn't been updated since Win98 so I have an old PC solely for my scanner.
   Guess what my 1st virtual project will be ... :)

   @BenSando: For your purposes, use VirtualBox instead of Virtual PC, as VirtualBox has USB support (and is slightly faster than Virtual PC: 5min Win 7 boot -> 20sec).

   @GMMan - Honestly I've never worked with a virtual system before so bare with me that I don't know the difference between Virtual PC and VirtualBox - yet :-)

   But maybe you can help me getting started.
   Paragon can work with VMware Workstation, Microsoft Virtual PC and Hyper-V, Parallels, and Sun Virtual Box

   What's the difference and which one should I choose ?

   VMware Workstation is pretty much "the norm," as it's very popular. It costs money, though. Virtual PC is Microsoft's virtualization software. It's a bit out of date, but it's free and probably most compatible with Windows VMs. Hyper-V is the virtualization system found on Windows Server OSs. Parallels is mostly used with Macs, though I think they may have Windows versions. It also costs money. Sun Virtual Box (now by Oracle) is an open source virtualization solution, with a non-open source edition as well. That's the one I use, and works fairly good. The only gripe I have is it doesn't have 3D drivers (but neither does Virtual PC).

   If you're willing to pay, and are serious about virtualization, you should choose VMware. But if you're just trying it out, grab either Virtual PC or VirtualBox. I recommend VirtualBox over Virtual PC because it's updated frequently and not very old (Virtual PC is from 2007, and I don't think it has an update).

   Please explain the timing figures that you posted above. I do not have a problem understanding the "USB" term that you associated with "VirtualBox" it is the latter part of your phrase that is a little puzzling.

   On Vitual PC it takes really long to boot Windows 7. On real machines the figure is usually around 20-30 seconds, but on Virtual PC it seems to take forever. On VirtualBox it takes around the same time as a regular machine to boot Win7. I'm not sure of the technical differences between the two programs, but faster is usually better.
