   I installed the 5/10/10 GAOTD offering, Atmosphere Lite Plus on a Windows 7 64-bit machine. The installation went without a hitch, but on my first attempt to use the program, I clicked on the first audio category, Deep Forest. The sounds of birds, frogs, etc. began playing. When I tried to sample some of the other sounds, the forest sounds continued to play over them. I've tried clicking on the "Stop" and "Master Stop" buttons to no avail. I've tried closing the program an opening other audio files, but the forest sounds continue unabated. Any idea how to terminate the chattering and chirping issuing from my sound card?

   Hi Gus, why don't you try contacting the vendor directly - the gentleman named Nick, who works for the developer, seems to be very responsive to customers' questions. I believe he will be very helpful to you in resolving your problem. Just a thought.

   Try killing the process, if it's still there. The program might have tray icons, so if they are there you can try exiting the icon. (Note: I haven't been able to install this program yet, so I cannot say whether or not there is a tray icon.)

   Thanks, Happy Person and GMMan! Killing the process worked. In fact I found two processes, and they had to be killed in reverse order. The first wouldn't stop until the second was shut down, but once both had been killed the noises stopped. I hadn't considered contacting the vendor because I took them at their word that the program came with no support. It's good to have peace and quiet again. Thanks!

   That's a good point about the support, syzygus (interesting screen name) but we've found that many of the developers DO respond to our questions - at least on giveaway day, but often later on, too. It's good PR, of course. I'd suggest that the better way to look at that is, "no guaranteed support".

   ...or developers are not obligated to provide support - the choice is entirely theirs.

   (Occasionally a problem experienced by a user, could be a bug in the program. It is normally in the interests of the developer to fix these bugs for the benefit of current and future registered users).
