I don't know if this site has been mentioned by anyone yet, so here it is.

Some of the games are already in the Free Games Synopsis area, but many aren't.
Enjoy.

Some of those downloads are absolutely HUGE. They are far beyond what is normally seen as "free". This brings up 2 questions - are they legitimate or cracked and what's the catch?
Hi, Dragonlair, gamershell is okay.
They have a lot patches and downloads around games, and betas and also "normal" (shareware) downloads from the other game houses.
As far as I can remember, WR and others have linked to it before.
Gamershell is one of Rabbit's and my favorite game sites. I assure dragonlair, the games are legitimate. A lot of them are commercial games that went free.
Not cracked and no catch. I have played many of these. Some of them are older games that have been released as freeware and some are open source projects. Many of them have been talked about in these forums, but this is a good list of a multitude of free games. There are some great games.
The link that sparky gave takes you to a list of just the latest updates so be sure to look at some of the other links on the page. For example, the page you get to from the link above doesn't show "Beneath a Steel Sky", but you can click on the link to the games that start with B and find it.
There is a catch with many of the games in the Casual section on gamershell.com. Although described as
Downloadable Free/Shareware Game[s]
many of them download from BigFish Games, and are trial versions, good for 60 minutes only. That's not what I call Shareware!
Just want to make sure that it is clear that the Casual/Shareware section of Gamershell is an entirely different section than the extensive full game list given in sparky's link. The games in the full game list are not shareware.
