I received an email from BFG about a weekend sale. This will make all regular games about $4.80 each.
All games* are 30% OFF our everyday low price of $6.99. *Except Collector's Editions. Expires Feb. 15, 2010.
BFG has gotten sneaky and now no longer has an exe file with the games so you have to use their Games Manager to open them. At least this was the case for the last two games I downloaded from them. I don't know about the older games. If anyone knows a way around this, please let me know.

The .exe game file is in the game's folder but it is a hidden file. I have my computer set to show all hidden files and a game I downloaded recently has the game .exe file in the game folder. When hidden files are visable, the hidden file icon will be grayer than the other icons in the folder. I always make a shortcut from this file and play the game without going through the Game Manager.
Hope this helps
My bad, I had forgotten to turn View Hidden files back on after the System Restore. It still doesn't say "exe" but I can figure out which one it is.
The .exe shows if you have the option set to show file extensions. Otherwise, the "type" is application.
The funny part is it only goes through the game manager on the way OUT of the game, not on the way IN!
I am trying very hard to break myself of the BFG free monthly game addiction, I haven't bought any in Feb, so far. My coupons are good until 3/31 so I'm trying to skip a month.
Me too...I got three of the "best of the year" and sadly I haven't liked two of them.
One was Hidden in Time(BORING) and the other was The serpent of Isis; the objects are VERY very dark and tiny,so I was rather disappointed ...
So I am being more cautious and thrifty (I guess..lol)
Plus I still get the daily deal so THAT is too tempting as well.
Good thing that free games come along often!
(still loving Peggle nights..now playing against the computer; pretty challenging..lol)
If you really dislike a game you purchased from BFG, contact Customer Service and they will give you a code for a replacement game. I had the same problem with the ones I bought during the Best of 2009 sale. I absolutely hated one of them so they gave me a code for a free game. I also hated Hidden in Time (it seemed to be the same thing over and over) but I thought Flux Family was OK. I haven't even tried to play Drawn yet. I did enjoy Serpent of Isis when it first came out.
I still have at least 5 game tickets left from when I subscribed to BFG. I cancelled my subscription several months ago because I got really fed up of the number of HOG's coming up in their new game of the day slot. There has hardly been a decent game from them in ages apart from Zombie Bowl 'o' Rama, though I only say that because I got fed up of HOG's. I have quie a lot of the things and just found that the games were becoming too repetive.
There's a fatastic number of independant (indie) developers out there creating some amazing games, but I rarely see any of those games being sold at Big Fish or any of the other big game houses. I'd be back to Big Fish before you could say Jack Robinson if they would only diversify a little. :(
On the whole I found the customer service department very good. There were a couple of occassions when game credits had been taken from me when getting one of their free games, and they always refunded me a ticket. Also I bpught one game then didcovered I'd already bought it elsewhere and they were happy to give me back a new game.
I don't know when I'm going to be able to use the game credits I have. I only hope they do diversify soon
W.R.
Terri that is a good idea!
I will have to wait until Monday(or maybe Tuesday as I know that it is a holiday on Monday in the US.
I liked the serpent of Isis as far as the game play went, but the objects were VERY murky and obscure..
But Yes the "hidden in time" game was TERRIBLE so that is the one I will request a credit for.
:)
Keep an eye on the date that you have to use the credits by, WR!
I thought the credits were good indefinitely but read on one of the forums that this was not so.
I contacted BF to make sure (here is what they said..
"for all new members that started or reactivated their membership after November 2009 all unused game coupons expire 180 days after the most recent membership cancellation. As you reactivated your membership on January 4th 2010 your game credits would expire after 6 months, if you decided to cancel your membership in the near future. Here is a very useful link to our help page that offers you more information on that:

They DO have great customer service.
I wish too that they would offer more of a diversified selection!
I really like adventure type games even more than HOG's..(which CAN be too much the same sometimes)
The FBI one was really fun even though a bit dated...
:)
I just contacted Bigfish and they very kindly gave me a free credit..I have never done this before and was very pleased.
I told them that they have a great company..
