   Amanita Designs is having a direct download sale of their games. You must buy them in a Christmas special pack that includes both + sound tracks + artwork for $10. Standard pricing is $19.99 and $4.99 respectively. Here is a link to the sale.

   These are puzzle/adventure type games with brilliant/cute/unique artwork. The site has demos for both games as does Steam. There are windows, mac and linux versions.

   Machinarium has a Metacritic score of 85 and and user rating of 9.2.

   Ain't that typical. I was gifted Machinarium last week. the friend who gifted it paid full price for it. thankfully I got SDamorost 2 for half price via Steam. Both these point and click adventures are gorgeously illustrated and should keep and puzzle loving adventurer happy for many hours. I've loved the work of this developer ever since I first laid eyes on their free web browser game the original Samorost a couple of years ago.

   Get these while they are half price, you won't regret it. :)

   That's a good deal. I played the demo of machiruim. Do you know how long the
   full game lasts? (can be played in 1 hour, etc.)

   Buzz, how long it lasts is highly dependent on how good you are at solving puzzles and how much you use the hint system. I did see one review pegged Machinarium at 6 to 8 hours. Samorost 2 is probably only a couple of hours and at least half of that is available for free in the demo.

   one of the download links i received was bad...they reset it, & good to go...

   had forgotten about WR's previous post when this came out (loved the looks of it)...so this was a great surprise...
