I downloaded and activated the CDRWIN9 that was available at GOTD on January 13, 2013. The installation was quite simple, it required filling out a form which was made available after the software installed, and then they sent me a keycode which I used to register the product. It successfully registered. I know it successfully registered because I opened the application a handful of times during winter and spring 2013 just to verify it was still activated and registered to me, even though I had not yet burned a CD. Wednesday night August 7, just before I was admitted to the hospital and tried to post this message last thursday morning August 8, I opened CDRWIN9 and there was a message that I could use a trial version for 7 days, or I needed to purchase a valid license and register CDRWIN. Did anyone else notice if their copy of CDRWIN9 lost it's activation/registration this summer? No longer working? I know it didn't try to download an update, because I always check to make sure my GOTD giveaway installations are not set to check for updates or download updates in the Settings or Options.
I really wanted to make sure I wasn't nutters, so I went through my email account's software activation folder, and I found the email that Engelmann Media GmbH sent me, and I tried to re-insert the serial #s into the applet that pops up when I click on CDRWIN9 in my Start Menu, but as expected nothing happened. Also of note, I never have moved the Setup.gcd file as instructed in the text file which came in the zip file for this giveaway. It's still in the same folder as the setup.exe and text file as intended.
Anyone else have probems with this release? OH well, maybe I will try the Ashampoo Burning Studio 2013 from GOTD, or a software I have heard a little about called burrrn, which also uses .cue sheets for inserting text and spaces into audio CDs. I want to return WAV images, or WAV tracks, back into playable audio CDs in CD-DA.
