I'd also suggest downgrading to win98se, it actually will run a wider range of programs. Better DOS access.
I'll take a root around in my 'abandonware' files in the DVD-R catalog. if it's totally limited to shared memory, you can rule out quake II and treadmarks, but- depending on what/where and how hard it is to turn off the internal video- and whether she's willing, I have a pair of 16 meg Voodoo Banshee (accelerated 2D & 3D, OpenGL 1.4 I think- if far from new) PCI video cards sitting around gathering dust, one of which should be easy to locate. I'm certainly willing to gift it, and the drivers to go with. Standard sub-D 15 pin vga connector.
raising shipping is the only thing that'll slow me down giving it away- I have only one machine currently on the network that PCI video would be a boost, and it never needs as much as the shared memory provides, being strictly a network file box. Doesn't even have sound.
128 megs of ram and a Banshee, assuming Pentium/Pentium Pro/K6/K6-2 class processor above 233mhz (PPro/K6-2 and 400+mhz is handy, but I started out with a pair of K6's at 233mhz playing q2 on my 5 mips lan) will run Quake II, Heretic, TreadMarks, Dark Forces, the new MechWarrior first person games, and *lots* more. TM and MW a 3D joystick is a definite plus, but not vastly expensive. Feel free to pm me, and I can give you my gaotd email addy.
