Hi, Joybar.
Please tell us exactly what you are doing and what error messages you get.
We don't know what you miss or what went wrong.Posted 10 years ago # -
If I read your note correctly, you're not able to open the zip file that you downloaded.
Go here: Problems with your game installation? Check this FAQ's section, scroll down to the "Unzipping the downloaded file" section and follow the link for 7-zip, install it and your problem should be solved.
As an alternative, you can click "Start | Control Panel | Programs | Default Programs | Associate a file type or protocol with a program", scroll down to "Zip" and see what program is supposed to open zip files. Then, see if there's a newer version of that program available. It's entirely possible that a recent Windows Update made the version you're using obsolete.

After you have downloaded the file, it will open up with 3 files. Now go to your desktop and right click and open a New Folder. Copy and paste these 3 files to the new folder and run setup.exe from the new folder.
Its what I have had to do.

Tiffany, it sounds like you you're not extracting the files from the archive and Joybar may well have the same issue.
When you open the download file in your zip program you will indeed see 3 files but that process doesn't extract the files from the archive, it just shows you what files are contained in the archive. You're supposed to press the "extract" button (or whatever it's called on the program that you use). Your process of creating a new folder and then copying the files from the archive file works because of the "drag and drop" feature but it requires a few extra steps.
The confusion arises because many setup programs will run from the archive so you don't have to actually extract them, they'll extract "on the fly", but that's not the case with the GOTD offerings. The security feature requires that the files be extracted.

ChrisS I am not the one with the problem. I have tried all that you have suggested and I find the only way that works for me is what I have been doing.
Double clicking on setup.exe should open and run the program. It does for any other Zip files that I use but never for GOTD games. Why? I have no idea.
If what I have suggested for Joybar works, well then I have no idea until Joybar comes back and tells us.
