TO me installation can best be described as odious, but then I'm picky about such things & hopefully it won't give anyone problems. During install you're given the option to download/install the k-lite codec pack [ http://www.videohelp.com/tools/K-Lite-Codec-Pack ] -- do so at Your Own Risk. As far as I can tell the codec pack is mainly to assist in importing more types or kinds of video, so if you don't have anything oddball shouldn't need it anyway.
Setup adds older C/C++ runtime files from Microsoft -- an update will be needed after install -- & leaves the temporary files in C:\ or Root [to me kind of a travesty, but practically speaking shouldn't do anything bad but clutter things up]. There are 3 .ax files installed in C:\ Program Files\ Leawo\ Video Converter\ thirdlib\ , which will *hopefully* not break anything -- If you have problems with your other software try renaming that thirdlib folder after a fresh start [if anything's using one of those files Windows may just adapt to the name change]. The Xvid codec is also installed. Leawo's Video Converter uses tsMuxer.exe, presumably for Blu-Ray video files, which is OK, but if you import HD video in AVC format check the output for intermittent dropped [black] or distorted frames & audio sync problems.
