Is there something I can do to fix this? I install it like I do every other game from here. But when I go to the folder and click on game.exe, nothing happens for a second, then a "crash" log appears in the folder, but it's empty. nothing is on it. I've tried three times to get this to work, each time having to make sure it's completely off my computer, or else it will tell me the game has timed out. I'm baffled as to how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated, I love this kind of game.

My guess would be a problem with the video card. The game wants to adjust the video settings and your card is objecting. You might try this FAQ: Problems with your game installation?
Also, according to the download page there is no installation routine so the troubleshooting tools in Windows are available. If adjusting your video settings doesn't work then open "Event Manager" and see if you have any errors.

It's odd IMHO it won't run... Checking it out as usual in the XPMode VM found out to my surprise it was one of Very few games that'll run there -- it runs very poorly, & you wouldn't want to actually play it that way [though I suspect it'd be OK in a V/Box VM], but it does run. Process Explorer shows it using D3D, but it must have hardly any DX graphics requirements as that XPMode VM doesn't have Any DX hardware emulation. Other than Direct Sound I didn't see anything in Process Explorer to note.

Thanks so much everybody. I uninstalled and updated my drivers, then I reset my screen resolution to 1024x768, (it was on 1680x1050*recommended by the monitor*) and changed the dpi to 149%, tried the game and it worked! Plus I got an updated newer graphic chip out of this scenario. :-) You're all the best!

Cherish,
I've found that if you set your dpi to a custom setting like 149%, you are more likely to have problems than if you use the pre-set options such as 150%. I had one software give just black if I used 149% and work fine at 150%.
Also, when using the high dpi settings, you may have to set the compatibility setting to ignore the high dpi settings. There are times that a product just won't work or only shows 1/4 of the screen if you don't have that set. Just back out of the product (usually a game), set the option in the properties (compatibility tab) and then try it again.
