As usual [for Aiseesoft Blu-Ray apps] if you're running XP Aiseesoft Blu-Ray Copy will add the Toshiba UDF driver [thdudf.sys], so XP can read the Blu-Ray disc format. Is it necessary -- I installed the version of PowerDVD 8 that came with my 1st Blu-Ray drive, & that + Windows updates got everything working. Is it a problem -- probably not but it did cause me some problems, *maybe* because of that Blu-Ray version of PowerDVD 8 I had installed. Is there a way to avoid the Toshiba driver -- not if you use an Aiseesoft Blu-Ray app, since if you remove the driver it's added right back to XP every time you run the app. Why bother with Blu-Ray in XP when there's win7/8 -- XP lacks the added DRM in 7/8 & *May* work better for you, depending on hardware etc. Thdudf.sys info: http://forum.slysoft.com/archive/index.php/t-15597.html
Aiseesoft Blu-Ray Copy has/uses ffmpeg more or less as-is rather than including the code in the app's files. That's not a problem & *may* be an advantage... ffmpeg is constantly being updated & fixed, so you *May* get better results or maybe fix problems [if you have any] by updating ffmpeg to the latest, greatest version http://www.ffmpeg.org/download.html , though that's no doubt unsupported & trial & error on your part.
Finally, Blu-Ray Copy uses tsMuxeR http://www.videohelp.com/tools/tsMuxeR -- most all free & many lower cost Blu-Ray apps do. It dates from 2009, is no longer developed/maintained, & like lots of stuff, it is imperfect... I can't say how frequently problems will occur, but if you make a backup copy of a Blu-Ray disc you've bought, & that copy has dropped frames &/or loses audio sync, odds are tsMuxer is when/where it happened. And when that happens the only cure AFAIK is to avoid using it. I really wish I could tell you how to fix it, but the best I can do is say tsMuxeR hopefully won't give you any grief, & if it does, maybe it'll help knowing the likely cause rather than pulling your hair out testing, looking at everything trying to troubleshoot.
