i have downloaded and installed this program according to the text document that comes with the download but I do not appear to be registered.
I download
I unzip
I run the setap as administrator
The progam installs ok
I run the activate program as administrator
A dialog box comes up saying successfully activated
My firefox browser automatically opens to a GOTD webpage saying successfully activated
I open Chameleon Startup Manager and it says "Unregistered version, the trial period will end in 30 days"
I have OS Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 32 bit
I normally do not log on as administrator but I run both the setup and activation programs as administrator
Am I registered or not ? It doesnt appear so to me. Do you have an idea what the problem is ? Please help

Hi, TommyN, welcome to the forums!
I see that you have the second time problems with the installation/ registration of a GOTD programme.
As much as I can see, you followed the read me instructions correctly.
There is only one point which could be the crux - did you close the programme before activating it? Mostly the registration isn't possible when the programme is running; and don't forget to look out for an icon in the taskbar, even that must be closed.
When you are sure the tool isn't running try the activation again. If that doesn't help, it's better to uninstall everything and make a clean install without starting the programme before the activation.Good luck!

Hello graylox
Thanks for your quick response and advice. Unfortunately i have no luck. i tried first of all to close Chameleon Startup Manager and checked the taskbar to ensure the icon was not there then ran the activation program as administrator but when i reopened Chameleon Startup Manager it still said unregistered trial.
Then I uninstalled using Revo Uninstaller and went through the same installation procedure as before except at the end of the process i unchecked the box that said run Chameleon Startup Manager to ensure it wasn't running. I also looked in the task manager and could not see it there. Then I ran the activation program again and got the dialog box saying successfully activated and my firefox browser opened to a GOTD webpage saying successfully activated. But when I open Chameleon Startup Manager it still says unregistered trial. Do you have any other ideas? Wouldn't it be simpler and a lot less hassle just to give an activation key ? Please let me know what you think. ThanksPosted 14 years ago # -
Hi Again
I just wanted to let you know that I just managed to get the program activated minutes before the time is due to expire, phew.
What I had been doing before was after installing and activating I open Chameleon Startup Manager using the desktop shortcut to see if it was registered and that did not work. To make it work I had to go to where the program was installed in the program files folder and run as administrator from there. Then it worked. I hope that information helps. Could I suggest it might be good idea to add some of the points from these postings on to the text file that downloads with the software. It might save some problems for GOTD and others in future. Anyway many thanks for your earlier help and for the nice software. Have a good day.Posted 14 years ago #
