often there are problems with installing gotd software. Because it is free I usually just shrug my shoulders and get on with life but when you have 16 hours left and the software site refuses to install saying that the give-away period has expired you know that something is wrong and that possibly there is someone somwhere that is just as frustrated as i am even if admin don't really care. I am talking about TubeHoarder this time but similar problems are quite common. So is anyone else having the same problems? Mind you, most folk wouldn't b others even giving feedback because it is soooo difficult and the time delay for passwords and so forth must be designed to put off all but the most persistent. I rally doubt that anybody cares but i feel better for sharing this with those that might be vaguely interested.

How do we send screen dumps to prove that we are not raving idiots???

dbe: I've been getting things here for several years now and have never had a problem with anything I've chosen to download, perhaps you have your security settings too high or something like that?

Hi dbe, I know exactly how you feel.
It did not happen with me today, but it did happen with me often during the past two weeks or so, when GOTD was having technical site issues (that, apparently have now been resolved). Although, that's not to say that there everything has been resolved, given that you clearly are still encountering issues.
You may wish to send a PM (Private Message) to the GOTD Admin, either via the contact form on GOTD, or via a direct PM.
Graylox, Bubby, and WhiteRabbit will know how to better help you with this info., so please send them PMs for further guidance on how to do this.
Best,

Thanks for your support after my 'after-midnight rave'. I too have been using GOTD for quit a while but the problems have been there regardless of the security setup or computer I was using at the time. At the moment I am very happy with COMODO and they have an 'install new software' mode. The TubeHoarder problem does not appear to be related to this, and of course I am running out of time with no Admin response or knowledge of how to even make contact with them. There is probably a way, but it will be like the the Vogons response to planning permission plans in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and no earthly help to me in the immediate situation. Thankfully this software is largely not required once you realise the advantages of OPERA (to keep in touch with developments I use all the major browsers) and their easy-to-access cache files, but life would be a whole heap easier if the install simply worked as it is meant to...
