I downloaded the Wondershare Video2FLV on both laptops and both said the program was activated successwfully. Now my DELL INSPIRON mini running XP Home is claiming it is not registered. I converted several movies with it yesterday (9-29-09) successfully but now it claims to add a watermark since it is no longer registered. Any Ideas please...

Did you do a registry clean??? If so, that was what probably did it, and hopefully you made a backup before you cleaned it. (Or your program has an "undo" feature)

Yeah, mine too.
I'm running XP Pro SP3, but when I ran it yesterday Wondershare Video2FLV was no longer registered.
To answer thenameipicked, no I didn't do any registry clean lately.

Welcome to the forums, Bozeke!
Sorry to hear that the programme is no longer registered. I hope it is still okay on your second machine?
To answer your question: normally a registered programme stays registered - but we all know: Sh*t happens.
As thenameipicked wrote, one reason could be an aggressive cleaning or that you tried to update the programme or any incompatibility in your system.
Are you sure that it was correctly registered? The information that the GOTD download is activated does not mean that the programme is registered.
Anyway, I'm afraid we can't help you. (Especially not I, 'cause I'm terribly tired - it's 2.37 AM here - YAAAAWNHave a good day or night and have a look at all the free games our games-team has found for us: Free Weekday Games Synopsis.

Ooops, ArahMan7, haven't seen you, as I wrote my answer.
Sorry for you too.
Maybe you should write to Wondershare and tell them what happened, in the past there have been several developers who helped with another reg-key. Good luck!graylox

the first ever Wondershare program that became unregistered for me...no registry cleaner used here, either...and haven't installed anything since then...
bummer...
the odd thing is the program says 15 days left...when i installed it, i took screenshots...before it was registered, it said 30 days left...

Running restores to turning windows features on or off can do change a reg key.
I just had it happen to me on wondershare video to flash encoder. Guess its the same one your talking about. Just use format factory. Its way better anyway and covers every almost every format known.

Good luck on yours.Posted 14 years ago # -
I guess Txnnok is right. I did a restore awhile back. Maybe that's the reason it became unregistered.
A question, if I do a restore or registry clean will all the apps downloaded from Giveawayoftheday will be unregistered? How do you prevent that from happening if ever someone do a restore?
p/s Hola notblocklox. Thanks for the head-ups. I guess it didn't hurt if I write to Wondershare or I shall be using Format Factory as recommended by Txnnok.
Sleep tight and sweet dreams my friend. Greetings and lots of love from Malaysia.
Sincerely yours,
~ ArahMan7Posted 14 years ago # -
Every giveaway that was installed before you made the restore will stay the same. The programs that keep their registration info in the registry will be lost. And if you don't want to lose your programs, I would suggest making a backup after every downloaded giveaway.

Wow, I had chopped off more of the sentence than I meant to. I meant to say running restores and(to) also turning windows features on or off can do it.
I had typed out a long paragraph explaining what I did and then changed my mind. I remembered that it was because that features had turned off a a bunch of boot up services, causing problems with my network, sound card, and making everything look like windows 98. The only thing is I couldn't get it to restore at the time.
I did use a new registry clear that I was testing out a few hours before all that happened or I my Asquared Antimalware always picks up aomething from one of wondershare products or my copy of Kaspersky does.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------I left the rest in cause those qvpdf paragon slovoeducation translation giveaway. Probably a false positive, But it gave me the idea that maybe out malware programs could be yanking that part out and just so happened to carry the code.
I also noticed that mine still says upgrade to flashpro for 19.95 70%off for giveaway of the day users, so possibly the code still there and the time is up.
Just a thought. time for a nap for me now.

Now as Txnnok mentioned Kaspersky, I remember that I got problems with some wondershare programmes too. Kaspersky classified the old flash versions coming with wondershare products as dangerous. As I never used those programmes since they were installed, I deleted them without testing if they are still registered.
Maybe your AV software did the same thing, or an update of flash smashed the registration.Posted 14 years ago # -
I just wanted to share with all the poster here that you are not alone in your registration problems and that I am sorry to report that my Wondershare Video2FLV that I installed on 2 laptop computers (Vista ultimate, one 32-bit & one 64-bit OS) both started prompting for registration on Wednesday 2 days later saying I had 15 days. This was after successful registration on Monday. No registry cleans or system restores were performed, or additional software was installed. I used Wondershare Video2FLV without problems Monday and Tuesday on the 32-bit Vista and during that time the computer had been restarted at least 3 times in normal use. I talked to a friend who installed it and upon his investigation discovered the same had happened to him on his XP pro desktop PC.
While I have yet to discover a solution, I plan to keep my eye on these forums and my internet searches too and hopefully be able find some more positive news to report. In the meantime also, I’ll continue to explore alternatives that will create web-friendly output with a .swf that links to the corresponding larger .flv file.

That seems to be a severe problem.
Maybe the GOTD team should contact the developer.Posted 14 years ago # -
Doesn't GOTD pay these guys for their software?
There's one I will know for sure. I bought a new dvd burner a few days ago and didnt come with burner, so I yanked one out of media center pc. I'm pretty sure I put that program on there, so it reset. Then I'll know.
The sata cords should be in any day now, so I'll keep ya'll posted.oh, wait the sata cord I robbed was for a slide external hard drive, that I dont have. I'll put back together tomorrow.

Hi, Guys,
I am new at this game and I have no idea, whether a 3-weeks-old stream can still be joined or not...
Anyhow this "unregistering" of programs happened to me twice lately, once the Magnifying Glass Pro advised me that I have only so-and-somany days for the trial, yesterday it happened to the Chameleon Startup Manager.I, too, think, that it is a problem with registry cleanup. But Registry Cleaning is essential for avoiding slowdans and for those, like me, who do lots of testing on programs, installing and uninstalling - it is simply a must.
Thenameipicked suggests to restore from Registry Backups - but this is clearly not possible! If you restore your registry to an older date, it will run havock with all the new programs and all those programs that do registry changes while they work.
Registry cleaners usually provide a way to exclude certain registry keys from cleaning. It would help a lot, if the Giveaway people could tell us which keys to keep intakt. But there is no way to contact them...

hi, Wanderer7...
welcome to the forums!...
the GOTD owners/operators are kind enough to leave threads open for us all...sometimes it causes some quirks/problems, but overall a good thing...
unregistering can be caused by many things, among them: registry cleaners; a "rebranded" program replacing the key of the original program, causing it to unregister; an error by the developer; a program that is mistakenly updated (some are set on install to auto-update); a program that requires installation under each user name (instead of just once for all users); ...and i'm sure more that some geekier than me can better explain...
the GOTD team & the developers try to find a balance for us all in regard to registration keys...if we have a key for every giveaway & can reinstall, the dev may lose upgrade sales after the giveaway/advertising of the software...no key & registration doesn't "stick", we may lose the chance to try a giveaway...not easy to balance, but the effort is there...
i checked my "Magnifying Glass Pro" & "Chameleon Startup Manager" giveaways, & they are still registered...
you can contact the Admin or a Moderator with a PM (Private Message), but posting keys or info about obtaining them would violate GOTD rules...
sorry to have rattled on, but hope to have helped explain a few things...

Thanks, Violet4714. I'll look into this matter. First I'll have to know what is causing the unregistering.
