Just curious as to why there doesn't seem to be any link on the forum page to go to Giveaway of the Day (I know I can remove the /forums/ part in the address bar but like to open in new tab most of the time).

That, looks like it accidentally got removed from the website with the changes. Just be patient, and hopefully, it will come back.
As an alternative, you can Ctrl-click your bookmark.
I use RoboForm and get to the site via the forums (don,t want to add both locations - I don'y save bookmarks/favourites).
All's good though - thanks for the reply!
P.S. Also looks like http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/ link has been removed from the regular giveaway of the day site.
I miss that link, too.

Definitely. They should bring back the old template and merge it with the new. Their upgrade probably consisted of deleting the entire bbPress folder, adding a new one, and reconfiguring it to use their current database. I hope they have a backup...
Agree.
my guess? ok, really WAG. they want people to go to giveawayoftheday.com and then use it's link to the forums.
cut down on barflys that only check in on the forums and blow off the giveaway if it's not a game. and since games are hard to get...
what? cynical? naw, not me....
ever heard of 'bookmarks' or even better one of the speeddial options - such as https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4810 or http://speeddial.uworks.net/
For me - GOTD = Ctrl+1, GOTD Comments=Ctrl+2, Forums=Ctrl+3, PMs=Ctrl+4 and so on.
It does a lot more than just this, but this would help in the above problem.
no problem for me- frameworks for posting images, base url's- all in a text file I keep synched across all computers. :)
