I am wondering why some members have the "PM this User" note under their posts, and others don't...trying to expound, but I don't have anything else to say :P

Hi TNIP, only those that have Admin or moderator privileges can be PM’ed. If you want to PM someone you have to send a request via one of the moderators.
Yeah I know it seems a round about way of doing things, but it’s done partly because of the nature of the site. We get free software daily, many that come with reusable serial numbers. The software is given away on the understanding that you download, install and activate it on a specific day. If you don’t, then it is supposed to be no longer available. I think it is to stop community members from passing around ‘expired’ activation codes by blocking the ability to PM each other directly. That’s only a guess. It could also be the nature of the engine used to set up this site (Word Press). I’m at the bottom of the rung when it comes to understanding the workings of any web site, so can’t be sure of the above.
It is a shame because the forums have become a really friendly place and much more than just a forum for discussing previous and current giveaways.
