   While trying to setup the software for today 02/05/09 (WinX DVD) following error appears :

   Connecting to giveawayoftheday.com: checking key availability.
   Return message then appears : Fatal error: key is invalid.

   This is not the first time this has happened. Any ideas on how to rectify this error.
   Have already missed out on some GOOD freeware because of this error.

   Try again later on.

   I never always get an instant hit myself when trying to connect to the servers.

   Could be your connection or something. Apparently, something is corrupting your activation key. Try clearing IE's cache.

   I use Firefox not IE. Sometimes the GAOTD activates with no problems as with "iSpring" for PowerPoint; but on more than one occasion the dreaded FATAL ERROR: KEY IS INVALID appears. Today I have around 18 hours still available to ACTIVATE so it should not be a time issue. It is very frustrating and like some other posters that I have read it means that I miss out on a potentially useful piece of software. If there is anyone who has been able to overcome this problem it would help more than just me I think!

   I don't think this is any of GAOTD's fault. Every single activation that I tried perfectly. I'm pretty sure it's something to do with your computer, router/modem, or your ISP.

   Also: as long as you have IE installed, it doesn't matter what browser you use. The Giveaway Wrapper always uses IE settings.

   Hi, I found it's IE's settings (Not the cache) which => Fatal error: Key is invalid
   Resetting to default is a sledgehammer to a nut, but it worked.

   What exactly causes the problem.. well.. that's pending. Sorry!

   I got that & it was the Firewall no pop just block so get new firewall
