I'll be posting Modays and Tuesdays free games tomorrow; (late Tuesday afternoon).

There's only a few more hours left before Filefront closes their site indefinitely and I've been almost non stop downloading files for many of my favorit games since Thursday night, especially the older ones because some of the files are no longer available elsewhere and will probably disappear once filefront goes. I'm sorry for the delay in posting this weeks games. It's rare that something stops me posting them, but I felt downloading many of the mods for my favorite games was important. I have some almost ready, but I need to rewrite the actual threads for the games before I post them. Once filefront closes in a few hours time I'll probably sleep for many hours as I've hardly slept since Thursday; having stayed up virtually every night since Friday. So if I'm late posting games tomorrow you'll know why. I'll probably post Mopnday, Tuesday and Wednesdays games at the same time.

Dear Wrabbit... NOT TO WORRY! Heaven knows we all have enough games to play that you've posted here till the cows come home... after they've walked around the world a few times. Lol! Sorry you're having to scramble so to collect your goodies. Did you see the post by rO about them rounding up things themselves and perhaps opening under a new name? (in your original thread about this) But PLEASE don't worry about the games. I've actually had a chance to play a few, instead of wondering where to put them all. *$:-D

Inconvenience? Oh, Silly Wrabbit. You take your time and do your downloading and then get some rest.

Right now I don't have the time for games as I am getting ready for my trip. But there have been enough games posted for everyone in the last 6 months to play "til the cows come home". A few days "off" won't matter.

Hope you get everything you need before it closes.

I just want to agree with everyone above. There are plenty to keep us busy until you get the proper rest and take care of yourself and what you have going on. Also, you fellow colleagues have given us a few news one recently as well.

Guess what.....

It seems it was all a joke. Filefront have taken down the banners saying it was closing indefinitely this morning (notably April Fools day). I've just checked the filefront forums and it seems to have been confirmed, though there's no official explanation.

I'm not very happy about it; but what can you do but smile and right it off asa bad joke.

I spent the last five days in front of the computer downloading files for my favorite games (there's literally thosands available) so am going to take a t least a days break from the thing. I'll post all this weeks games tomorrow sometime.

My wife picked up a nasty virus on the computer (that has all this weeks games - ready for posting in a file on the desktop). While trying to sort the problem over the weekend I did something so that when you log on it starts up then immediately logs off again, (don't ask, lol) so I've had to take my hard discs out and will be searching for the files when I've connected it to one of my other computers, (probably in the morning as I'm going to curl up to a few good films now).

Holy cow... I am sorry to hear that WhiteRabbit. There are funny April Fools jokes and then there are.. well, ones like this. Announcing it last night and then this morning saying "April Fools" might have been ok, but they knew there would be thousands downloading frantically to save the stuff they want/need.

Enjoy your films and get some rest. I will keep an eye out for when you are back.

That's just not funny at all, Wabbit. I have to wonder how many other people have done the same thing and are now really p.o.'d. It's a really poor joke on Filefront's part. Then again, I have never appreciated or understood April Fool's "jokes".

I agree that Filefront pulled a horrible joke. I feel sorry for all who were spending so much time downloading files. And when you have a medical problem like Whiterabbit's it make you feel worse. Too much stress is not good. I also have a chronic pain condition, but that's another story. So sorry

It WAS NOT a joke. They had every intention on closing for good on March 31st but the creators of the site bought it back.

Here's the explination copied from their site:

FileFront has been acquired by the original founders of the site and will NOT be suspended as previously announced. This is NOT an April Fool's Joke.

After learning about Ziff Davis Media's plan to shut down FileFront at the end of March, the original founders of FileFront made the decision to buy it back from Ziff Davis Media.

We're happy to announce to the gaming community that as of today, April 1st, 2009, FileFront is a completely independent company again and is no longer part of Ziff Davis Media. All previously suspended services should be active and working again. We thank Ziff Davis Media for their cooperation and willingness to keep the site and community alive.

Due to the very unfortunate timing of this event and related announcements on March 24th and April 1st (April Fool's Day), we'd like to make it perfectly clear that:

1) The March 24th announcement about FileFront shutting down was NOT an early April Fool's joke and Ziff Davis Media had every intention of shutting down FileFront by the end of March.

2) This announcement about the original founders buying back FileFront from Ziff Davis Media is also NOT an April Fool's joke.

Thank you for sharing that and letting us know. I suppose it was just very unfortunate timing, but I am sure how many would automatically think that it was.

Congrats to all that were worried about this and hope you didnt burn yourself out too much before finding your stuff is safe.

I just KNEW they wouldn't stoop that low. Here's to the round-the-clock hard working personnel who kept this site alive. Just sorry some fans here worked round-the-clock also... especially you, Wrabbit. But it was all for a good cause... in case their plans didn't work out.

lol.... I can't help it. I wouldn't feel right breaking off for a week. It's been quite a successful project and I'd like to see it last for at least a year without a break before the decent games run out. That should be possible especially as there are free games being released weekly.

Thanks for the concern though.
