I got a "reminder" in the taskbar last night of an update. It was for the 26h2 update and said if I didn't do it now, it would come with the next cumulative update. I waited for a quiet time (while heading for bed) to let it go.
I've never seen an update this fast! It took maybe 2 minutes to download and not much longer to install. It said it estimated about 9 minutes for the required restart. I let it go and then walked out of the room. When I went past the room maybe 10 minutes later it was fully rebooted.
What did it do? It wasn't long enough for major changes and there was no "Old Windows" folder afterwards. When I clicked to see what was in it before the update, it said a lot of AI stuff and new features in Windows Explorer and Task Manager.
I know these things come out routinely but what was this?
A full antivirus check this morning was a little longer (more files) than last week but not significantly.
Did this thing just turn on stuff that was already installed but turned off until now? That's about the only thing that makes sense!
