This is an ambitious project/app that I was could not get results from trying to perform image editing in my Win11 25H2 VM [I don't do much if any video or audio editing nowadays]. It is setup for audio & video, with image editing a bit of an afterthought -- it's treated basically like editing a single frame of video. So without critiquing the app itself, I can only give some details on its installation.
The app itself takes up ~420MB initially, and asks to be installed where it does not need admin privileges to add/delete files. The default is C:\. To get it to run I had to copy the vcomp140.dll from another copy of Windows to the app's Binary folder. When you 1st run the app it adds C:\ Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Roaming\ Turbo Play\ and C:\ Users\ [UserName]\ Documents\Turbo Play Shaders\ folders. The registry gets ~7 new keys. To use AI you download various models from Hugging Face, which are added to the Turbo Play folder. These are not the cut down models offered by for example the WinX apps, but 1GB+, at least the one for photo enhancement.
Using local AI models means everything's done on your PC/laptop, which has pros & cons... you don't share your stuff with anyone, but you generally need a discrete GPU [graphics card], ideally one with Lots of VRAM and AI capabilities like Nvidia's latest.
