Previously, and currently if you live outside of the European Economic Area, you have to turn on Windows Backup to OneDrive, pony up some Microsoft reward points, or pay $30 for the one year of Windows updates. It seems you still have to have Win10 tied to a Microsoft account, with Windows Central reporting: "It seems the user will still need to enroll into extended security updates, which will require the user to authenticate with a Microsoft account once every 60 days...".
There is also a script for the Command Prompt [or Terminal] & alternatively PowerShell that will allegedly turn on the extended updates, though you won't know if it worked until November 2025 Patch Tuesday.

Note that all of the above are for consumers. If you have a copy of Win10 Enterprise or EDU versions, or none of the above works for you, there's always the massgrave scripts on GitHub, which allege all 3 years of extended updates. [Again, won't know until November 2025 if it worked or not.]
