FSR [FidelityFX Super Resolution] upscales games, so your hardware can get decent framerates rendering lower resolutions, but you see a higher rez onscreen. The newer FSR 4 is better than version 3 -- there's no doubt about that -- but requires (ed) the latest AMD graphics cards using RDNA 4. AMD however accidentally posted the full source code for FSR 4, so now there's a hack that lets you use FSR 4 with older AMD GPUs. The downside -- while the appearance looks noticeably better than FSR 3, it takes a little bit of extra horsepower, so FPS may drop.
