Photo Variants is a free photo/image editor that some folks may want to check out. From a quick look I think it has potential, but the way that layers & layer masks work is either broken or needs further development... making an adjustment to the photo persists across all layers [you should be able to turn that layer off & the adjustment disappears], and/or adding a mask, you should be able to block an adjustment from effecting portions of the image.
The app installs to Program Files taking up 120MB with 1090 files in 13 folders, with a 2nd folder added to Documents taking up 20MB with 923 files in 11 folders, and a 3rd folder added to Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Roaming\. In addition to an uninstall key and one key for the app, Photo Variants unfortunately adds quite a lot of registry keys taking over almost every type of image file, which IMHO is very unfortunate.
