AceThinker Video Editor looks close to what you'd expect to see with a traditional NLE [Nonlinear Video Editor], rather than some [usually minor] editing features grafted onto a video conversion app. It only has one video monitor window -- many NLEs have 2 -- and it's set up more to view what you're doing, rather than using it in combination with hot keys to perform actual edits like with many pro oriented NLEs. It also has just one video track, where I think most NLEs give you at least 2, with more pro apps letting you add as many video & audio tracks as you want. Those additional tracks help a lot, letting you work faster with more / better organization, with more creativity, with being able to view and compare different edits. The AceThinker Video Editor partially makes up for this by having dedicated PIP & Overlay tracks that you might use instead. One nice addition is that you can work with .srt text-based subtitle files.
AceThinker Video Editor is at least similar [if not identical] to the Apowersoft video editor, which is referenced in the added registry entries. apowersoft[.]com/video-editor . It uses .NET, D3D, and [surprisingly?] Remote Desktop -- while it's running it opens 4 online connections using HTTP & HTTPS to 8.48.85.231, 8.38.121.225, 8.45.52.221, 47.243.121.132, all in the US, which might be expected given the video editor is registered & used with your online AceThinker account. Since it uses the ffmpeg code libraries, you should get the same capabilities importing media that you get using any of the many other apps using those same libraries. Exporting / video encoding should also be the same, depending on the encoder settings used -- 2 apps using identical ffmpeg versions & identical settings should give close to if not identical results. A *possible* exception is that there's no provision in the AceThinker Video Editor for GPU hardware assist, which can effect quality when enabled [usually negatively].
Installing the app you get the program's folder -- ~164MB with 1043 files, 85 folders -- along with a folder in ProgramData -- ~34.6MB with 1023 files, 92 folders. An AceThinker folder's added to C:\ Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Roaming\ and (My) Documents. The following fonts are also installed: ebas Neue.TTF, BebasNeue Book.TTF , BIG JOHN.otf, Muyao.TTF, NotoSans-Bold.TTF, NotoSans-Regular.TTF, Raleway-Light.TTF, Roboto-Bold.TTF, Roboto-Light.TTF, Xiaowei.otf. In my Win7 32-bit VM I recorded 310 new registry entries.
