This is one of those apps that Ashampoo resells, rather than developing on its own.

About the only reviews I found were on Steam: store.steampowered[.]com/app/444970/SPATIAL_SOUND_CARD/
What turns me off was the laziness of the New Audio Technology coders -- they required the Microsoft C/C++ runtimes, but rather than include them in the program's folder, like many Chinese coders, or run the runtime setup from the users temp folder, which is standard practice, they dumped everything in root [C:\], leaving a big mess of now useless files there. And it's an old version of the C/C++ runtimes at that, requiring an immediate hotfix from Windows Update. Soundstage 2020 installs a driver, and to be honest, if the coders are that lazy, I can't afford to give them the benefit of the doubt, that they got the driver right, considering a bad driver can trash Windows. They do include an app in the program's folder to remove their driver, Spatial Sound Card Driver Removal.exe . Because I'm hearing impaired I can't give you a good performance review, but there are plenty of alternatives with good reviews and without the risk of adding an unknown driver you may regret.
Included with Win10 is Sonic -- windowscentral[.]com/how-use-windows-sonic-windows-10-creators-update . And in the Windows Store you'll find DTS Sound Unbound, Dolby Access/Atmos, & Boom 3D [on sale as I type this]. It's up to you whether positional audio is worth it or not. It's Not new tech, as soundbars have used it for years, and remain popular. Yeah, it may not match spending thousands of dollars on a theater room with all sorts of speakers, but it's thousands of dollars less to spend, and a whole lot less hassle that mounting speakers and routing cables. As it is 5.1 - 7.1 speaker setups for PCs have become much more rare over the years [and of you get one of those setups, have fun figuring out how & where to mount those extra speakers]. That all said, don't forget that the quality of the headphones you use Matters. If your headphones sound like s***, then using them with virtual surround sound is going to sound like s***. head-fi[.]org/threads/are-gaming-headsets-better-for-positional-audio.864848/
