User "M. H." has commented on a shady tactics for the offer on Dec. 31st ("Vidmore Video Enhancer 1.0.8"). He showed that the software company used fake images to promote their software. That comment was removed - why?

ModeratorStuff happens. Sorry. Please remember that the volunteer mods are human, so they can make mistakes, may not read something the same way that you do, may not have enough time on their hands to fully vet any complaints that might be made regarding a comment or comments, and so on. They probably don't have enough time on their hands to even read your post in the forum. IOW it's not like Facebook where they have special teams and AI software and specific policies and review teams or boards that are supposed to weed out whatever posts [& still get it wrong a lot of the time], but just an ordinary someone like you & me who volunteers some of their time to make the GOTD site with comments usable. And without their work I'm sure they'd have to take the entire comments section down.

ModeratorYes, a short explanation would probably be nice, and I have seen WR add such occasionally on the game GOTD page, but in defense of all mods, when gergn talks about a barrage of reactions, that's a polite understatement of what these folks doing an often thankless job go through. Thinking that they have anonymity, there are Lots of people online who post stuff that's just vile. And many of them like nothing better than to try and make other people angry, offended, fearful, &/or shocked, preferring when at all possible to carry on such a conversation [if you can call it that] for hours. Any sort of acknowledgment from the mod is often seen as encouragement -- if they responded once, then maybe they'll respond dozens of times as the troll tries to escalate the conflict. When a mod deletes a post or comment, they have no way of knowing if the person making the comment is a reasonable human being, or a troll that truly desires drawing blood. In fact, it can get so bad that mods for one of the social media companies regularly suffer & require treatment for PSTD!

MemberThe posting of user "M. H." was in no way trolling and contained a serious issue regarding the company (and their behavior) and its giveaway. To me it looked like that it was an unwanted posting that revealed the shady behavior of the company that was giving away a giveaway (and thus somehow has to be "protected" by GOTD).
