The GUI & the way that you use video editing software can vary a LOT from one app to another, with some having a pretty steep learning curve. AceThinker Video Editor is one of the easiest to use editors I've seen, and that's its selling point -- it's not really noteworthy otherwise. Based on ffmpeg & Avisynth, it should be capable enough for basic editing & encoding with good video format compatibility, as long as you encode your finished project to the H.264 or H.265 video format. Note that while great deals [~$30] on Corel VideoStudio Pro and Nero Ultimate have been rare the last year and a half, they do still happen.
