Yesterday was beautiful timing! A couple of years ago the Dimo DVDMate software was given away. I grabbed it but never really had a chance to use it.
In the past few weeks, I finally upgraded to Win 10 (new machine) and I'm still building it. I've got almost all the general and basic software installed but just a few games.
I knew that I would not be able to get that same software because it did not lend itself to the old GOTD Game trick I tried with a 50/50 chance of working. I could zip up the entire product folder, copy it to a new machine, extract it and try the main executable. If it worked, I would create a shortcut and run with it. Dimo DVDMate with it's expiring unlock/registration code would not let that trick work! I figured that was something lost.
Low and behold - it was there! I grabbed it again. Since I just got this machine, I don't think I'll have to worry about that anytime soon. :)
BTW - there is one game I used that zip trick that worked and at this time (after at least 2 machine upgrades) is the ONLY version of that game that worked. I've tried that game with sites like MyPlayCity and GameTop and it's even included in some multi-game CDs but they don't work. ONLY the old old old GOTD version works! It makes absolutely NO sense!
I have not yet tried that game on the new machine -- I haven't gotten that far. I've only got about 48 DVDs (some partial because of updated versions later) to go through yet as well as a bunch that only install from downloads (BigFish and GameHouse).
