Regarding the included USB version, what goes on the USB stick stays on the USB stick. Activation apparently uses a hardware ID, so if you copy the app elsewhere it will deactivate. The GOTD readme.txt file says: "Please note that you can't test the portable version on a virtual machine, install it on a USB stick." It works fine with the folder copied to the root of the drive in a win7 VM -- C:\ -- but it won't have that USB device ID & so will not activate there. Instead have to attach a USB stick to the VM, copy the folder to that stick, then run & activate.
Installation-wise the app isn't terrible, with folders for the program & under Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Roaming\ Inv Softwarks\. Registry entries include a key for the app & uninstall, but also several for the Windows shell integration [e.g. right click menu].
