Abstract Curves isn't a terrible app, but it seems that it wasn't fully finished when it was released June, 2015. Be that as it may, it's a niche app that you might not find a replacement for, so if it interests you, just have to make do. The program's window wouldn't fully display in a VM, regardless the display window resolution. Running in a VM, the setup routine did not give the option for the included Photoshop compatible plug-ins. Running in my regular copy of win10 Pro 64 bit, got the option to install either the 32 or 64 bit versions including the plug-in, but it missed Photoshop entirely [I've got P/Shop CC 2018 & 2019 installed], offering to add the plug-in for PaintShop Pro 2018. I've got PaintShop Pro 2019 installed. It latched onto the registry key & path for an older installation [PSP 2018], then created the PSP 2018 folder tree to put it in.
That said, & FWIW, you can use Universal Extractor on the setup.exe file. It will expand the setup.exe file into 40 some folders -- ignore all but the last 2, Help & Icons. Put those 2 folders in whatever folder you want to run the app from, along with the remaining 7 files [AbstractCurves.exe etc.]. Or just grab the plug-in files if you need them, the .8bf ones, along with the appropriate .dll file(s) [e.g.acplugin32.dll]. You'll need the 32 bit version for 32 bit graphics apps -- 64 bit for 64 bit apps. You *might* have to put those .8bf & .dll files in the program's folder, then put a shortcut to the .8bf files in the plug-ins folder for whatever image editor. Extracting the setup file also gives you a $APPDATA folder -- its contents go in the C:\Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Roaming folder.

Abstract Curves started right up in the win7 VM, but in win10 [& I did run the install program] it's a different matter -- it starts, but starting takes a while. I didn't try to troubleshoot, but compatibility settings, manual or using the wizard, make it worse.
Additions to the Registry aren't too bad -- you get an uninstall key, plus an Abstract Curves key in both HKLM & HKCU.
